Running through the hallway I get my plasma gun ready as the dark shadow raced near behind me. I run into an empty and crushed room and lay low under one of the tables. As I gasp for breath to regain my composure I think aloud "OK I need to charge up my plasma gun". 'Boom' a huge crash rumbles like an earthquake across the building. With riveting anticipation, I begin shaking with my gun in my hands. With sweat dripping down I begin thinking " I better calm down before I accidentally shoot myself when I got so nervous like before".

The shadow king "Hanaka" draws in nearer and reaches the door of the room I'm hiding in, with not only determination in my eyes I grip my blaster and aim. The door bursts open as a beam of dark shadow engulfed the room; I manged to dodge some but I'm no God. I bring out my friend's bow staff and throw it towards Hanaka and frog leap across left and right walls. Whilst charging my gun I aim at the stick and fire; the bow staff opens to the size of my plasma blast and. 'Boom' there was a nuke.

This story begins 12 years ago. I'm with my friend Muzashi and we are arguing about what who is going to become the strongest hunter. "You can barely keep up with me when we train saoichiki". Said Muzashi with a smug look. "Yeah, well I'll surpass you one day just you wait and see". I said with hope in my eyes.

Skip to present day we are now 15 years old, and we can take the exam to see if we are shadow hunter material. Both Muzashi and I walk in and enter the colosseum where we have to face a Yinying (what we call a shadow soldier). The first few rounds go bye quick as they all lost the next one was Muzashi and he didn't get a single scratch, and he precisely aimed for its weak spot (its core). I grit my teeth in anger and excitement towards my greatest rival. I'm next up so I rush to the battle ground and aim me gun at it but dark tendrils burst out of it and I blast it but it just went through it like a ghost.

"Arrrgh" I scream in agonising pain as a tendril rip through my shoulder and suddenly I saw Muzashi looking at me and I fought through the pain and analysed the situation at hand. I came up with a few hypothesis and tried them out and it turned out the shadow became weaker the more it spread out so ran around and dodged it's attacks and once it's core revealed itself I yelled out from the depths of my soul "PLAZMA GRENADE!!!!"
After everyone were healed from their injuries those who passed were asked to stay behind and those who failed had to leave, and Muzashi and I passed and we were told that we are once in a generation talents.

This is our first step to becoming the strongest.
