Inqyan Renvaq had been staying at school due to an upcoming test in attack magic, so this is the first time in a while that he comes home.

He went straight to bed without greeting his mother.

Inqyan's stepfather suddenly wakes him up an hands him a letter, which states that the former hunter Ahliz Renvaq will be executed within 5 days after been found guilty of betrayal and conspiracy against the great kingdom of Hekygt.

The letter was written 5 days ago so today is the day she's supposed to die.

"Is this a joke?"

Inqyan throws away the letter and stares at him.

"Listen carefully, it seems your father is a criminal who betrayed the king, they took your mother to ask his whereabouts but after several days she was añready at her limit, so the king chose to officially kill her in order to not receive complaints from the family."

"You have this letter, does that mean you saved her?"

"... I'm sorry."

Inqyan couldn't believe it yet, her mother was killed and he didn't even know until now.

"I'm sorry but you have to leave, I managed to erase all evidence about your existence but that doesn't mean they don't know about you, maybe you don't know but your appearance was changed by Ahliz 10 years ago to hide how much you look like your father."

Inqyan goes to the bathroom and notices that he now has red hair and eyes, it feels so strange to suddenly look different but, there's no doubt anymore, his mother is dead.

The worst is that when he came home he still had black hair and brown eyes, which means she died while he was sleeping.

After he spaces out for a while, his step father starts talking again.

"They're going to come for you too, you have to leave before someone reports they saw you." 

"Alright, but let me take something from her room."

Inqyan takes a deep breath before going into the room, and then goes in, he takes a diary and a book.

Inqyan and his stepfather are standing at the entrance.

"Take that dagger, it was Ahliz's, it's been always hanging in the entrance door so we could use it in an emergency, and now is clearly the time to use it, take it with you."

"And how will I get out of here?"

"Go to the address written in this paper, there you will be taken to the limits of the kingdom, there's someone there who will give you a horse, you can use it to scape but that is everything I can do for you."

"I understand, thank you, I'm off."

"Please take care in the outside."

"You too, make sure no one know you helped me or you're probably gonna die too."

With this said, Inqyan went to that address, there he was given a bag for his things, and he was also told to hide in a pile of food the people who received him were going to deliver.

Now they've arrived to the limits of the kingdom, he gets off the vehicle and the ones who brought him have to leave.

Now he's called out from the house next to him.

Once inside, a man serves him food and tells him to eat it quickly.

He finished eating, now it's time to take off, the man guides to a near forest where a nameless horse rests.

"Sorry, this is the only one I could get without leaving traces, it's not too fast but you will be able to ride for at least 8 hours in a row."

"Don't worry about that, at least I have a way to move, thanks."

"No need to thank me, now get on that horse and leave, wherever you go should be better than here but make sure you don't get lost, goodbye."

"Sorry for the troubles, I'll make sure not to get lost, I'm off."

Leaving behind the great kingdom of Hekygt, Inqyan rides the horse towards the neighboring kingdom, hoping that no one knows about what happened.

After seven hours of traveling, the horse is already exhausted, and Inqyan also has been riding it for too long, so he decides to rest in the next forest.

Once in the forest, he finds a lake using detection magic, ties the horse to a tree right next to it, and protects the area using barriers that no living being should be able to break.

The only things he has with him are her mother's diary, a book filled with the strongest magic spells, and the dagger that was hanging in the entrance door to his house.

He gets some fruits from the forest and feeds the horse and himself.

With a full stomach, he now has the time to calm down and think a little.

He stars remembering everything that happened yesterday and now that he is not focused on escaping, he breaks in tears.

Inqyan lets out a scream between his tears, he's in pain, everything was so fast that he couldn't even say goodbye to his mother.

After an hour or so of crying, Inqyan finally falls asleep hugging the diary.
