Untitled World
Chapter 1 - The encounter
What is justice? What’s the difference between good and evil? What is the difference between a hero and a villain? What does it take to change the world? Ideology? Beliefs? Politics? No. Action. Action with purpose.
The year is 2089. The world has seen a variety of changes, from fossil fuels to solar power, from being limited to earth to an almost inhabitable Mars and most importantly from guns, tanks, and planes to swords of mass destruction. The world was under the rule of the Babylonia empire and its emperor, Gilgamesh. The main way that Gilgamesh was able to dominate the world was through his strategic warfare efforts. In all of his life, he had only lost one battle. Gilgamesh was assassinated in 2045 while giving a speech to his citizens. He passed away accomplishing his goals; unity and peace for the world. Now his successors who have taken the throne have thrown away everything he had worked hard for and maintained the rules through fear.
“Where is that shipment supposed to go?” An armed guard asked.
“Section C,” a man in a massive truck responded. He had long black hair and sharp brown eyes.
“Hmmm…. proceed,” the guard responded. The truck drove through the heavily guarded security check and entered the enormous city. Buildings were tall like skyscrapers with clear windows on every floor, cars had an almost futuristic function, though not able to fly, they were able to hover off a good distance from the ground. Massive televisions were everywhere, if the news wasn’t playing then major Corporations would be trying to promote their latest product. Overall, Sector 4 was a busy city.
As he drove through the long highways accompanied by other cars the huge T.V’s on the side of the buildings issued an urgent cover of the news.
“Today on Oct. 26th the 4th Prince of Babylonia will give an urgent speech,” the reporter spoke. There was a pause. “Well, folks it looks like the speech is about to begin, please continue watching.” A blonde man with extravagant robes approached the screen. His face just spoke cunning, he was definitely acting fake.
“Greetings citizens of Branch 4. It is I, Prince Felix La Babylonia, I am the overseeing baron of this Branch. The Branches, which were formerly known as ‘Countries’ abolishment were an absolute necessity in achieving peace and union. Unfortunately, it seems that not everyone can grasp such an idea, the terrorist group known as, “Liberators,” won't approve of the system my grandfather had worked so hard to build. They don’t realize their hypocrisy, they call us evil and tyrants yet they are the ones causing conflicts, making people lose their lives. They want to revert the world back to the days of common conflict, disease, poverty! I won’t allow that.” He sounded passionate
“Quite the contradiction,” The truck driver said.
“Yesterday, during an expedition for Sekulime, the Liberators attempted an ambush on company one.”
Company one was an advanced squadron of fighters who were masters at wielding ARMS. ARMS were weapons with the ability to morph depending on the wielder's brain activity, nature and how much Sekulime was infused within. These swords were the main weapon of choice for the military since it could cut the now popular bulletproof exoskeleton that every soldier was equipped with.
“The terrorists were no match for the overwhelming battle prowess of company one and were dealt with effectively. Today, we will execute one of them live for the whole world to see.” Behind him, a capsule lifted from the ground with a human inside. He looked to be around his 20’s and was restrained to a platform connected to the capsule. A gag was placed on him so he wouldn’t spread his propaganda in a live broadcast. “Any last word?’ Felix asked in a degrading way, it was rhetorical. He laughed for a good minute. The prince unsheathed a sword magnetized to his belt and pointed it at the young man.
“Let this be a lesson to anyone who opposes my family,” He lunged into the man's heart and his body imploded within.
“The royals have some interesting swords,” the truck driver said.
“I bid you farewell my dear citizens,” the broadcast ended.
The cars that stopped for the broadcast began to move again, including the truck. He took a left to the sign which spelled out the words “Plasma Hotel” and started dangerously accelerating. He didn’t say a word until the hotel was just a few seconds away from him. “Gia tin Eirini” He spoke as he crashed the vehicle into the hotel. The car exploded, there was a bomb inside it. The explosion wasn’t small either, the explosion, which was most likely a weapon made of Sekulime caused a chain explosion to occur throughout the entire building. The hotel fell.
20 minutes earlier
“Nelly, are you sure we should be up here?” a voice called out.
“Don’t worry! My family owns the building, it's fine if you’re up here.” A woman replied. “Up here Aeha!”
“Okay coming!” The boy travelled up the steps and reached the roof of the huge mall. The view was gorgeous, he could see the whole city. The fluorescent lights that guide people through the night time roads were in full bloom. There was a full moon gracing them with its presence. The light from the moon focused on Nelly. She had long blonde hair reaching to her back, her eyes were sapphire blue. She wore the same school uniform as Aeha but just a female version.
“Look at the city outside! Isn’t it gorgeous?” She said to him while fawning over the view. Aeha could only pay attention to her beauty. “Yeah, it really is,” he said with his full attention on Nelly.
“Look, there’s the plasma hotel over there,” She pointed at a distant building to the right. “You know that's where all the rich people stay when they are visiting Branch 4?” Aeha minded that name, it abolished all the rich history of France.
“Yea!” he replied, “I heard the Baron stays there too when he’s in Sector 4. must be nice to be rich like that.” He sat on that for a few moments then Nelly spoke.
“Look! The Baron is giving a speech,” she pointed towards the huge screen to his right. It was Felix La Babylonia. Probably up to his old tricks of executing somebody on live T.V. to issue a threat to the Liberators, Aeha thought. He had been doing it for months but to no avail. The speech ended shortly after the execution and a few minutes later is when it happened.
BOOM!
The explosion came from the direction of the hotel. “What was that!?” Nelly screamed.
“It came from the plasma hotel,” he said. They looked towards the hotel, there was a blazing truck rammed into the entrance. A few moments later the trunk blew up. The building was engulfed in flames immediately.
“Terrorists!” someone called out from the distance.
“Terrorists?” Nelly questioned.
“Nelly, I’m sorry but this date is over”
“But why? This was our first date, why do you want to end it here?” Nelly had asked Aeha out at school the day before. He decided to go on one, but for what reason? “I know! I’ll call my father, he's a member of the second company, he can help us,” She said in an attempt to keep the date going
“Speaking of your dad Nelly, where is his base located?” he asked her, this time he had a void expression. He was serious
“Why? That’s top-secret information you know,” she was beginning to question Aeha’s motives
“Come on, I am your boyfriend,” Nelly was overtaken with emotion. This was the first time in her 17 years of existence she ever had a boyfriend. She gave in. Her thumbs twiddled,
“His base is located at the west gate, You’ll need a card like this to get in though,” she pulled out a key card from the pocket of her long black skirt. It was dark black and had a gold lining on the edge, the middle had a code written in a futuristic coding language.
“Great, You’ve fulfilled your purpose,” Aeha grinned
“Purpose? Your talking weird Aeha,”
“Yes, your purpose was to get me the keycard. Now that I have it,” Aeha took a step closer to Nelly, “I don't need you anymore!” Nelly took a step back but tripped on an uneven edge of the roof. Aeha continued to pursue her until he was right in front of her. He threw his arm up in the air as if he was trying to catch something thrown at him.
“Manifest, Izanami,” He spoke to the night sky. The sky replied back. His hands were surrounded with black ribbon-like particles. The particles began to shape, what was produced could only be described with one word, “DEATH.” It was a long black saber which glowed in the presence of the night, the accents were gold and white.
“An ARMS?” Nelly said, “But that's not the one you usually us-” before she could finish, the sword was placed in her heart. Instant death. A black mist rose from the wound, eventually engulfing her whole body in the smoke.
“Disappear,” He said in the coldest monotone voice imaginable. The mist which had taken her body began to clear up, her body was gone, the only thing that remained was the key card. Aeha bent over and picked it up. “Perfect,” he smirked. He faced the direction of the bombing, “Now it’s time to teach these false gods a lesson.” What stood on the roof was a teenager with jet black hair, his features showed he was a descendant of the formerly known as “Japanese.” He stood at 6’1 with a massive dark sword in his hands. His body dematerialized into black smoke and disappeared.
Meanwhile at the scene of the bombing.
“Terrorists!” A guard defending the building shouted. He had a Branch 4 police uniform on and an automatic rifle at aim. The truck was covered in thick smoke, screams came from the ruined hotel and the guards surrounded the truck with their guns ready to shoot. The smoke began to clear up and 5 armed men emerged. Shots were fired. The only bodies that fell were the soldiers, the terrorists seemed fine.
“Damn it, they have a Melascula cage!” One of the soldiers on the ground cried out.
“Hey, this anti-bullet armour is the shit!” A man on top of the truck yelled in excitement as he pumped his chest like a gorilla
“Calm down Ral, we had to pay a lot to get these,” another voice said
“Right, sorry commander,” Ral obviously didn’t mean it.
“This is Commander Evan Lee to headquarters, mission accomplished,” he said into a voice transmission device that was connected to his ear.
“Copy that, you have permission to retreat,” A voice called out into his earpiece.
“Roger.” He said, “alright, pack it up, let's go home.
“But commander, this fight was so boring, I wanna fight someone stronger!” Ral whined.
“Be careful what you wish for,” from the hotel two men emerged. “Now that we’re here you won’t be bored in the last minutes of your life” One was a bulky African man who seemed to be in his 30’s and the other was someone around Aeha’s age, a student.
“Who are you guys” Ray questioned.
“Dumbass!” Evan yelled, “That’s company one!”
“Really?” Ral was surprised. “How can you tell?”
“Look at their uniforms, there’s a “1” embedded on their shoulder.” Ral looked closely at the enemies. The bald man had a black military uniform with red accents and the same with the teen. The teenager had blazing red hair and gorgeous blue eyes, it was almost like you could get lost in the ocean just by looking at them.
“Manifest, Ifrit” The teenager called out. His hands were engulfed in fire and the end result was a golden red talwar.
“Ray! The orders were to not kill them!” The man said.
“But Brock, that guy with funky purple hair has a name very similar to mine, ‘Ral’. I just can’t have that, besides they’ve killed plenty of people already.”
“Damn it, there’s no point in arguing with you.” Brock was clearly angered but still allowed Ray to do as he pleased.
“Hey now, wait a minute, nobody told me about company one and ARMS being on this mission.” Ral panicked. He aimed his gun at Ray and sprayed. “That should teach him,” he laughed, “These company one folks are pathetic. How are you guys scared of them?” The other members of the group looked at Ral with pity
“You just joined last month, but this is common knowledge among all citizens of the world. The military squadrons that possess ARMS obviously also have Melascula cage’s,” said Evan
“Huh?” Ral looked at Evan terrified, he then looked as the smoke from the shooting cleared up. There was Ray.
“Damn terrorists, all you do is call trouble for others,” Ray said in anger. “Now charge Ifrit,” he called out to his Talwar. Flames rose from the sword and attacked the group. Nothing remained but ash. “What a disappointment, they do all that just do die from my ARMS,”
“They’re just moderately funded terrorists, after all, they can’t even get their hands on Sekulime so they won’t have ARMS,” Brock reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter and a cigarette, he lit it and took a whiff and let the smoke out. Ray looked at him with an annoyed expression.
“How do you even get your hands on those relics? Everybody nowadays just uses Vapes.”
“Ugh, you kids keep being hip, I’ll stick to what I like,” Brock sounded much older than he looked at that one, singular moment.
“Maybe you shouldn't do it at all. It’s gonna kill you,” Ray pointed the obvious
“In this job kid, you’ll die very fast,” a shocking statement, the elite company having a high mortality rate.
“How? We’re the best around, I mean aside from the knights of the round I guess.” Brock took a long pause as he consumed more nicotine.
“There are people way more dangerous than us, ever heard of the ‘Outlaw’? Brock was serious
“No, I just joined the military so I don’t know these people. Who is he?”
“We’ve only seen him in underground drug operations”
“So he’s a dealer like all those other ‘Vangrants’?” Vagrants were the people of the branches that were not born with Babylonic blood. Vagrants are mistreated all through the world, that was what Gilgamesh caused as an aftermath of his domination.
“No, he killed all of them.” Ray looked at him with shock
“So he’s a vigilante?”
“Exactly, and a very dangerous one at that. The one time I saw him was in the raid of the Diluc family. We surrounded the building with at least two hundred men.”
“Why so many?” Ray inquired
“They had ARMS, the Diluc family isn’t easy to take down unless you have a 3rd generation ARM. So there we were, At the Diluc mansion.
The rain poured an onslaught that night, the huge mansion was painted crimson red in blood.
“Yo Brock, it’s about to start.” A voice spoke to me in the distance, It was Neil.
“Yea, let me just tighten my Melascula Cage.” The troops that counted to around 200 were mostly equipped with low tier ARMS with a low concentration of Sekulime imbued within. They all formed a mob circle,
“Today we take down the Diluc family and its head, Oslo!” The commanding officer of the operation yelled. The rest of the men and women output their battlecry. We charged in.
