Alex is seventeen and just now starting to live. He's never had a friend before, now he's got one he sees everyday. He's never really even thought about girls, and now he literally has the girl of his dreams. What seems like a classic high school coming of age story turns dark fast when a well known killer storms through the town and infests it with fear.

The coming of this killer has caused something to stir inside of Alex, something he really doesn't like. He might have been able to ignore it at first, but when he gets closer and closer to the girl of his dreams, Lizzy Bradbury, he realizes that hiding from his own darkness is harder than he could have ever imagined.

In a large city like Portland, coincidences rarely happen. So why then, does this killer appear more frequently around Alex than he'd like? In what is essentially a teenage-superhero-story-gone-wrong, the only real question is, when do the questions end and where does the truth start?
