For those who have no experience with skateboards, choosing the first skateboard is often more difficult. Everyone wants to buy the best skateboard for beginners, but not everyone knows how. So this article will provide enough information for you to make a well-educated buying decision.
Types of skateboard for beginners
Skateboards so far have had many different variations, but in general, we have 2 main groups of skateboards which are conventional skateboard, cruiser, and longboard.
1. Conventional boards
There are many ways to call this type of skateboard such as traditional boards or shortboard. And this is also the first type of skateboard to appear. Classic skateboards are designed mainly for tricks. It can be tricks done in the skatepark, bowl, street, or half pipe.
Popsicles are probably the most common shape of shortboards. You can see a majority of skaters skate on this deck shape in different skate spots. When you skate on this board, you can easily drive the switch because the two ends of the board are identical.
A shaped deck is the other less common shape of aconventional board. The nose and tail are shaped differently. Unlike the popsicle shape, you have to put your feet in the right place and point your nose and tail in the right direction or else you will fall and end up injuring yourself.
Although you can learn many tricks with a shaped deck, a popsicle is always recommended as the best beginner skateboard.
2. Cruiser boards
As the name suggests, cruiser boards are best for cruising around. Cruiser boards have the length in between the length of a skateboard and a longboard. What makes the cruiser board really special is the soft wheels which bring relaxing feelings and smoother rides to riders. Many people praise this board as the best skateboard for beginners also because of the excellent features of the wheels.
