Hi, it’s been a while. I wish I was posting here with better news, but I’ve decided to take my comics off tapas & webtoon.
I will still continue updating, but having spent a lot of time on this hiatus reflecting on what I’d like to do moving forward, I’ve decided this is the best course of action for me.
I've never really vibed with the culture on webtoon, and I think my time on this site has run its course as well. So in light of recent & upcoming changes to both platforms, I’ve decided to step away and refocus my energy to my main site. If I’m going to try and make any headway as a creator, I feel like the time & energy that go into that would be best spent on one single place vs several different sites.

Sorry for the silence, but I've got good news! While on my break I've been working on fixing up some stuff from the existing chapters. As a result, I've updated the first 13 pages of chapter 1 with new art + writing to (hopefully) better set up the story. You should've gotten notifications for these already, so go check them out!!
I'm hoping to fully come out of hiatus later in spring (dealing with house hunting stuff at the moment so I want to wait till things settle down) and intend to return to posting with a relaunch of chapter 4 (which is also due for some fixes).

Hi everyone, apologies for just dropping off the face of the earth for a while. Between being stuck on a graveyard shift until the end of September and my mom passing away earlier in September I have not been in a good state of mind to work on anything regarding the comic. In case it isn’t obvious at this point, Saffron Wave is on hiatus indefinitely while I deal with everything going on irl. I’m hoping to return to it around the new year, but I’m not going to make any promises at this time as I’m coping with a very large change in my life. Thanks for your continued understanding and patience.
So I’m really not doing well right now. Working graveyard shifts has really messed with me both physically and mentally and I’m not able to stay on top of updates (especially when I don’t know what day it is anymore).
Long story short I’m either not sleeping or sleeping too much, I’ve got next to no appetite anymore, and my now permanent state of exhaustion is making me overly irritable and snappy and it’s just not a good time over here right now.
So I’m taking some time off from updates, I don’t need the added pressure of trying to push out comic pages each week when I’m feeling as awful as I do. I feel a bit bad because I’ve already gone on hiatus once with this chapter and executing it has just been a nightmare overal with moving and everything, but for my own sanity I gotta take some more time away.
Fortunately I’ll be moved to a swing shift starting September 5 and won’t be doing overnight shifts anymore, but until then I just gotta put my well being first. I’m aiming to start updating again on September 13th for the main site and tapas, and on the 29th for Webtoon, but may have to push this back further depending how long it takes me to readjust to a normal sleep schedule.
I’ll still be working on stuff in the meantime, but I’m not going to stress about uploading pages each week for a little while.

I'm hoping to use my free time during the moving process to rebuild my buffer a little bit so I can return to public updates strong starting July 5. Support platforms will still receive comic updates as I finish pages.

I just wanted to give a little heads up that I'm thinking of going on hiatus in a few weeks for a few weeks. I can't recall if I've mentioned it before but I am moving next month!!
Naturally that's going to take priority for a while as my partner and I pack up our current place and move into our new (temporary) place and start new jobs, and I've been thinking about putting the comic on hiatus for a few weeks up to a month so I can focus on moving and rebuild my buffer.
At this time I haven't fully decided if I'm going to do this yet, we've still got about three weeks left at our current place/jobs before the move itself happens. It's really going to come down to how much buffer I'm able to rebuild in the next few weeks. I was hoping to avoid a hiatus and have enough pages queued to last through the move but I've made my peace with the fact that I may have to put updates on hold for a little bit.
I'll let you know in a couple weeks what I decide, I just wanted you all to be aware of what's coming up on the horizon so it's not a surprise.
