It's taken me almost a year to finally post this because the message was too painful and confronting for me. Whenever I sat down to write this, I'd end up crying.
Weaker Sides has had its fair share of re-workings, editing and hiatus before, but I've decided to stop working on it once and for all. I'm exhausted from this project and after 10 years of writing, drawing, trying to improve and spending dozens of hours on getting the word out without much of a response, I believe it is time to count my loss and move on.
This is certainly not my first project (whether it's a game, comic, art series and whatnot) to be cancelled. Yet Weaker Sides was by far the hardest to say goodbye to. This project means more to me than I can put into words. That's why I dreamed of sharing it with more people out there, in spite of how outlandish it was. I've really come to love the characters, and felt hopeful about reviving it with lots of edits, improvements and choosing a more hopeful bend to the story. But I've realized there's no way for me to successfully promote this story. I think I've tried pretty much anything I could think of, so at least there's that.
I'm happy to say that another reason for me to cancel Weaker Sides is that I've been in a much more hopeful and flexible mindset these past years, in spite of the utter trainwrecks that are 2020 and 2021. I've found other ways of putting my creative energy to use. :-)
Thank you all who've commented, shared their response with me, sent me encouraging messages and told me that this comic meant something to them. I deeply appreciate every last message and I hope that 2021 finds you healthy and safe. Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. <3

the Birthday Massacre releasing a new album is really helping me tackle the new batch of Weaker Sides pages. God i love this band! Along with Chelsea Wolfe and The Soft Moon, this band's been an ongoing source of inspiration and energy. Couldn't have done this without them. DIAMONDS is out now and it's effing perfect. I'm giving it my best to create new pages, there's a few in the pipeline as we speak...and with artistic burnout always looming around the corner, I'm ok with that. I'm done looking down on myself because I can't constantly produce new stuff, especially since this is a side project, not my main income or focus. And that's why I'm especially happy to see so many new readers! I appreciate every one of you! <3

Weaker Sides updates will be slow for the time being.
The coming time I'm going to focus on art projects that'll actually rake in some money. I want to get out of this financial slump and actually get somewhere. As much as I love Weaker Sides, I realize that this comic isn't going to take off anytime soon. It lacks the pace and relatability and funk that comics need to have. I'm having a hard time motivating myself to finish the next page, and the next, and the next - I used to feel so deeply for these characters and the world they live in, but it's getting harder and harder. I'm not giving up, but I'm gonna take my stress about this damn comic down a notch.
See you on the next page, dearies. Hope you've had a good New Year, and a fairly soft descent into the dull ache that is January. <3
