More Creator Dashboard Updates!

Hello, Tapastry Community!

Back in February, we were excited to share our new Tapas Dashboard with you. Since then, we’ve been hard at work to further improve the site for you, and implemented a few more highly requested features in the last few weeks.

Here is an overview of the largest improvements made!

Total Subscriber Count and Total Word Count Are Back!

Your voices were heard! The total subscriber and word count stats were very useful in our old Dashboard overview, so we’ve brought them back! You can find them right under your series title.

More Comment Management!

In your Episode List, you can now find the comment button on each episode. Click it to open a popup window which will allow you to scroll through all comments and also filter by “Unanswered comments” (Comments without creator responses).

Additionally, you can now pin your favorite comment to the top of your episode’s comment list using the pin icon! A pinned comment will appear first on the desktop and app comment section, giving you the option to to celebrate your favorite response to your episode. If you do not pin a comment, comments will stay in the default order.

No Height Limit for Comic Files!

Did the height-size limit previously interfere with your ability to create a comic? Fear no longer!

You can now upload files at any height, as long as they don’t exceed 940px width and 10mb in size (Only exception: Gif files. See below) . The system will automatically slize your files into multiple images to ensure best loading times for readers.

Note: If you may see our old file size limit of 940 x 4000 px mentioned on our dashboard and tutorials, please ignore. We are working to update this information.

Detailed Mature Settings for Episodes!

Letting readers know what content they’re about to read is an essential part of publishing a web series ethically, so we expanded the mature settings to give you the ability to do so! Moving forward you can select one or more mature tags for your individual episodes. Readers with the mature warnings enabled will be able to see these tags ahead of time.

We will continue to improve the mature warning setting for readers in the future.

Not sure when to add the Mature tag?

Please use responsible judgement! Content with sexual themes, nudity, abuse or violence, as well as gore and blood should always use a mature filter. For other filters, such as Cursing/Profanity or Mental Health Topics, make the decision based on your audience and prior storyline. If your audience is young and might be surprised by sudden curse words, or if you feel certain mental health topics may be triggering for some of your readers, you can add the filter to give them a heads up. We trust that you know your audience and your story best and make the best choice for your readers - use the mature tags responsibly. If you still have questions and want more opinions, check out our forums and chat with other creators like you!

We hope the new features continue to help you publish amazing stories and interact with your fans more easily. Don’t think this is it, though! Our team is working hard to bring more site and app improvements for you and your readers in the coming months. Sign up to our Creator Newsletter if you haven’t yet to stay up to date with any changes coming your way (We won’t spam you - we send around one newsletter per month with all the important news).

Happy creating!
