Hi, my name is Devin Crane and I am a comic strip ghostwriter. I thought I would share the process that I go through in helping to turn some of the your favorite comics into daily comics -- all while working behind the scenes.
The pay can be good with some of the classic strips, but some of the newer creators don't like to pay more than $20 for a gag.
People are always astounded when they find out what I do for a living as they say, "you don't seem that funny." That's the beauty of it, with newspaper comic strips ... you don't have to be.
Contractually, I cannot tell you which strips I write for, but I think after you get to know me and my sensibilities you may be able to recognize my work in some of the classiciest strips in the paper.
