I walk into a room full of cameras but only one person. News stations don’t really use camera crews anymore. They just have bots programmed to get footage for them.

The person ushers me over to sit with them and I do as such. The man seams like an older fellow, has a robotic left eye and seams kind and caring. Yet stern, he’s already typing notes about me on his tablet.

I smile at him and decide to break the silence. “Hi I’m Ethan and you are?”

The old man looks up from his notes with a wide smile before offering me a hand to shake. “My name’s Dallas, please to meetcha Ethan.”

I gladly shake his hand and fall unintentionally silent.

“Nervous?”

“Is it that obvious?”

He chuckles and pats my shoulder. “Don’t be, You’re doing great. Now I’ve got some questions to ask ya, alright?” I nod.

For about the next hour he asks me random questions ranging from what is my favorite color to what is my view on politics. The questions differed greatly and I struggled with more than a few yet the way Dallas spoke and the way he seems to be this kind old man kept me calm.

After the test I exited the room and walked back to Carson’s workshop. When I entered the room he tackle hugged me, nearly knocking my feet out from under me.

“You passed Ethan- or uh 9E, nonetheless you did great!” He said with a wide smile.

Hearing that I fall dead silent for a moment before hugging Carson tightly. Then I think of something and my expression fades a little. “What now?”

Carson falls silent, not really having an answer. “I… I don’t know. No one has ever passed the new test before...”

According to the administrator of the test he could not tell them apart in the slightest.
