Name: Cameron Jeeves
Current goal: Drowning her sorrows in alcohol
She doesn’t know if her brother survived yet or not. All she knows is that she’s on her eighth drink at the bar and should probably stop but continues drinking anyway.
Then a tall man she hasn’t met sits beside her at the bar and smiles at her. There’s a worn sort of tiredness to him; like he’s many years older than he appears to be. “Would you mind if I joined you?”
“Joined me with what?” She said confused probably because of the alcohol clouding her thoughts.
“Drinking. I haven’t had the greatest day either. Might as well waist myself away with alcohol I mean. What’s the point of living if you can’t do anything valuable with your life…” he said as he ordered a drink from the bartender.
She shrugs. “I guess you have to give life a point ya know?” She said before downing her entire beer in one gulp.
He nods. “Ya might want to slow down with the drinking, sweetheart.” He said taking a sip of the whiskey he ordered a moment ago. “What’s got ya so down in the dumps anyway? I mean… you’re Cameron Jeeves. The inventor behind genetic-tech. Because of Your work you’ve saved billions-“
“And so have you Slug.” She said as she ordered another beer.
He fell silent for a moment completely stunned and then whispers to her. “Y-you know who I am?”
She nods. “I’m more than an inventor ya know? Used to want to be a historian. And you are definitely important to our country’s history. You practically single handedly overthrew the government when it was beyond corrupt.” She took a sip of the beer the bartender just brought her. “I’ve gotta thank you for that. Most of us wouldn’t have what we have now if it weren’t for you.”
He fell silent hearing that and smiles widely, proudly, but there was a tinge of confusion to his expression. “Why do you want to thank me? I killed people-“
“Soldiers kill people don’t they? What you did might not be right from some moral standpoints. But you did what you thought was right. And you did it as quickly and as mercifully as possible. That might not make you a hero because of what you did but in my opinion that makes you anything but a villain.”
His smile becomes a little more genuine hearing that. “Thank you Cameron.”
“You’re welcome big guy now riddle me this. How are you alive after all these years? And how have you possessed Mr.Myers?”
“It’s… it’s complicated...” He said as he practically shrunk down in his chair.
“Well I’ve got time to listen if you’re willing to explain? I’m just curious because… I know Mr.Myers was the last person you killed so… did DeadEye Kill Mrs.Myers?”
He nods. “I’d rather not talk about it-“
“Could we talk later? Like meet at a Cafe or something?”
He remained silent for a moment before nodding, a smile returning to his face. “I’d love to. Where and when?”
“How about… Dannie’s 8 O’clock sharp.”
“I’ll be there.” He said with a smile or before Mark(?) and Jacob showed up anyway.
“You TRAITOR…” Said Mark or well DeadEye as he walked up to his partner who started to tremble.
“Boss?... Y-you’re alive… that’s great.” He said with his statement practically dripping with sarcasm towards the end.
They seem to almost growl at him. “My shades.”
Malcolm nods and begrudgingly gives them the dark nearly opaque shades and they put them on. “So… what now Boss?”
“Oh jus-“ Their voice suddenly snaps back to the way Mark normally sounds. “God that’s weird feeling. Did I miss anything or-“ he gets cut off by his sister hugging him and they just fall silent for a few minutes to be thankful that Mark is alive.
