“Stormi Lucille, time to get motivation for school!” Maddow pounded hard on his sister’s bedroom door. He sighed as he ruffled his strawberry blonde hair and eyes drew tired by the minutes from waiting. “If you aren’t up within the next five minutes, I’ll pour freezing water onto you!” he blurted out.
“I’m up,” she said sleepily. “Chill, don’t get your boxers in a twist.”
Pushing the bathroom door open, he sauntered in. Maddow caught a glimpse of his weary reflection bouncing back to him off the mirror and held an overwrought look. “Are you up and ready?” he yelled, his voice was groggy.
“I’m up and ready!” She shouted.

Maddow sat in History class, staring at the front of the room blankly as he ignored the others. He should had been there already. “Where is he?” he murmured under his breath.
“Hey bro,” Carter said, settle into his seat across from him. “I missed you this morning. Where were you?”
“With Ava,” Maddow said.
“Today class,” Mr. Schowitz said, he bent down to retrieve something off of the floor. “You’ll be paired up into two for a proje-”
The door slightly opened and Jaxon stepped in and handed over his late slip and settled down next to Maddow and grinned.
“Pick a partner,” Mr. Schowitz ordered. “Choose wisely, and it will play out if you get a good grade or not.”
There was scruffing for partners, Maddow was clenching his hands against the desk, he was speechless.
Jaxon glanced over -and took notice Maddow worn an overwrought expression-. “Maddow, right?” he asked, nudging his shoulder gently. “Want to be partners and is everything ok?”
His heart was pacing in his chest, bursting to rip out. Maddow never imagine Jaxon speaking to him. Never in his wildest dreams. He swallowed the overwrought and nodded. After, steadying his heartbeat, he stood up then marched to the front of the class and clasped his fingers against the project worksheet. “Nervous over this class project,” he lied. He couldn’t tell him the truth.
Jaxon placed his hand onto Maddow’s back. “It’s good to be nervous. That means you still have something to lose,” he gave a sheepish smile and glanced down at the numbers of projects there were on the worksheet. “Number five looks like straightforward, we could do that.”
Maddow’s ocean blue eyes stared at Jaxon, his straight somewhat short black hair, ivory skin, his tight clothing, slender body, and glasses. Thoughts wander in his mind. Does he knows he stare at him? Does he know he’s gay?
There were messages incoming at a swift pace. Maddow glanced at his lock screen and grinned, ran his thumb slightly over the picture of his late older brother. “Miss you man. Wish you were here, to tell me not to worry about anything or go paranoid over thoughts,” he whispered to himself, hoping Jaxon didn’t hear him. He draw the big dipper shape required to open it.
Carter: Stop staring at him before he noticed it!
Carter: Answer your phone, bro!
Carter: Get your eyes off of him
Maddow: Sorry I can’t help it lol :)
He dropped his phone in his lap and let his eyes fall onto Jaxon. “Number five sounds fine to me.”
