I watched Jaq walk away from me. I respected the guy, anyone who took care of their own was good in my book. At dinner time, I headed down to the dining hall. I wanted to find Cinderella and ask her out. My flirting didn’t seem to be getting through to her so I decided to take the direct approach, but I arrived I couldn’t find her so I asked one of the other waitresses and found out that she had the day off. I found Jaq by the windows eating and laughing with some blue eyed blonde. When I walked over to them, Jaq smiled at me.
“Hey Henery how’s it going?”
“You knew she wasn’t going to be here today didn’t you.”
“Yep,” Jaq said with a twinkle in his eye. I could tell he was getting a kick out of this.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Jaq winked at the girl and she giggled.
“Thought this would be more fun.” I gritted my teeth to keep from strangling the guy.
“Well, do you know where she is?”
“Yes.”
“And where would that be?”
“The same place she always goes on her day off.” I really want to punch this guy in the face. I knew he was enjoying this and that really irritated me.
“Where’s that?” Jaq’s eyes went wide
“Wow, you don’t know her that well do you.”
“I want to get to know her that’s why I’m looking for her.” I almost yelled
“Well, you’re not doing a very good job looking for if you’re standing here talking to me.” I turned and started walking away. I could hear Jaq laughing. “Charming.” I turned around and found Jaq standing up at his seat. "Check the barn.” I nodded and turned to run to the barn. The barn is big, red and about a fifteen-minute walk from the school. It held a bunch of different types of animals and there was a pretty large garden off to the side of it. As I ran toward it I hoped that she was still there. When I got to the doors and peeked in I saw something I didn’t expect.
