Danelle walked into my office around lunch time holding a bag of Chinese takeout. Since I was on the phone she didn’t say a word just started setting it up on my desk. I looked her over for the twentieth time today. Jeez, I’m a horrible friend. Today she wore a tight purple sweater dress the came down to her knees and tan leather boots that came to mid-calf. She looked sexy as hell in the dress and it was driving me crazy. I ended my call and picked up my chopsticks. I looked at Danelle’s face and wanted to laugh, she had a look on her face like she had bit into a sour lemon.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s just that Luc’s been coming over every day for the last few weeks. He brings food or one of us cooks than he sits down with Cassidy and Cody and watches movies or plays games.”
“Okay, I’m not seeing a problem here,” I said as I dug into my spicy chicken.
“Nothing’s wrong, he just gives me a really hot kiss, says I’ll see you tomorrow and then leaves.” I smiled.
“Again I don’t see a problem. He’s being a gentleman.” She shrugged.
“I don’t know. We always talk about me or Cassidy, I mean he’s talked about his job and his plans for the future but I feel like he’s hiding something from me.” I nodded and sipped my drink.
“Do you want me to talk to him?” Danelle shrugged
Luc and I sat outside on the patio drinking beer and grilling burgers. We were just hanging out waiting for Danelle and Cassidy, her friends and their daughter’s along with David and Thomas.
“So you haven’t told Danelle your married and going through a divorce yet hugh.”
“I don’t know how to tell her,” Luc said taking a long sip of his beer.
“Well, she knows you’re hiding something. So you better tell her soon before something happens and she finds out the wrong way.” I said and got up to flip the meat on the grill when Danelle walked through the door. She wore black skinny jeans and a light red sweater. Cassidy stood next to her dressed in orange skinny jeans and a black off the shoulder sweater.
“You girls look beautiful,” Luc said as he got up to give Danny a kiss. It wasn’t long after that that everyone else showed up and the party started. I introduced the guys to the girls.
“Guys, these are Danny’s friends. Kelly, Courtney and you all know Sasha.” Thomas looked over Sasha. He had liked the way she looked when he had first met her at the restraint. Her dark brown eyes, light chocolate skin, and her long dark brown hair. Today she was dressed in tight jeans and a soft looking gray V-neck sweater.
“Sasha it’s nice to see you again,” Thomas said, Sasha smiled at him and put her arm around her daughter.
“This is my daughter Jessica.” Jessica is a beautiful young woman who looks just like her mother. She was dressed in ripped up skinny jeans, a white tank with a black cross on it, a tight black leather biker jacket and pink high heels. She looked like she should be on the back of a harley while her mother looked like she should be in a cabin reading a book by the fireplace. Jessica gave him a half smile and shook his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” He could tell by her tone that she didn’t care who he was and didn’t seem interested in being there at all.
While Thomas tried to get to know Sasha and Jessica better David was more interested in Kelly. He looked her over and decided she could have been a model. With her long legs and tight body, her pale blue eyes, and short curly blonde hair. He walked over to her and introduced himself. Kelly wore tight jeans and a yellow sweater with a graphic t-shirt under it. As soon as he walked over to her she smiled at him.
“You’re David right?” he nodded and grinned, taking her hand in his to shake it. “It’s nice to meet you.”
It wasn’t long before it got dark and Keven started a fire. Alex walked over to her mother, she was tired of hanging around here and wanted to leave.
“Mom can I have some money and can I leave now please?” Kelly excused herself from David and walked over to the side of the yard to talk to her daughter.
“That was rude Alex. What do you need to leave for? All of your friends are here.” David looked at Alex. He thought she had been very rude to her mother and he didn’t like that at all. Alex Looked like her mother with her long legs and thin body. Her eyes were dark green and she had long golden blonde hair. She has on way too much makeup and for a cold fall day not enough clothes in his option. She wore a strapless white top that stopped before her belly button and a short ruffled gray skirt with black high heels. David walked over to Danelle.
“Has Kelly been having problems with Alex?” Danelle sighed and nodded.
“All the girls have been growing apart over the past year or two. Each doing their own thing, you know. Well, Alex has been going in the wrong direction.” Danelle pointed to her own daughter who was talking with Keven and Courtney. “Cassidy’s been all about studying lately. She always has her nose in a book.” She looked over at Emily who was roasting marshmallows with Jessica. “Emily’s been spending a lot of time at Kelly’s working with the horses and helping around the farm, where Jessica’s more into fashion and her Native American heritage.” They looked over at Alex.
“Alex seems to be in a downward spiral. She’s been dressing inappropriately and has been hanging out with a lot of boys. She’s head of the cheerleading squad but it seems that the outfits have gotten smaller and the cheers have become more about sex than anything else.” Danelle sighed. “Kelly’s at wit’s end with her and she doesn’t know what to do.” They watched as Alex left and Kelly rubbed her temples. She walked over to them and smiled.
“So what were we talking about?” Danelle smiled at her old friend.
“I was telling David that you raise horses.”
