The News Anchor returns with his trademark placid facial expression.

The screen shifts to the image of a massive skyscraper in the heart of the city. It's design is clean and unusually geometry with the word "NAVIGATE" emblazoned on one side.

NEWS ANCHOR: Next, NaviGate has been ramping up their promotional campaign ahead of their conference.

The image changes again to Alpha (43. Wavy blonde hair and a yellow and black hero suit with a large Ø across the chest)

NEWS ANCHOR: And finally, the search for Sarah Opland has been called off. Authorities and heroes have had no luck unearthing an sign of the missing heroine. Our thoughts are with her. Where she is—

The screen fizzles to noise followed by blackness.

BETA: THE HELL WITH THAT!

BETA (25) slams his fist into the computer console. He wears dark sunglasses and a black and orange beanie with a Ø across the front. GAMMA (22) approaches behind him. She wears a similar black athletic shirt to Beta. Her deep red hair stops just below her shoulders.

They are in a small two-bed studio apartment. One wall is nothing but computer displays and data readouts. Another has a series of thin vertical windows that allow the warm glow of the city in.

GAMMA: Garret? What happened?

BETA: They've got to be covering it up!

GAMMA: It's been two months. Sarah would have returned if she could

BETA: Then that's it! They have her in quarantine—

Gamma grips Beta's arm and he falls silent.

GAMMA: They may have given up, but you know we can’t. That’s why she brought us together.

BETA: Yeah... But Delta and Echo are gone… And now Alpha… Digamma wants nothing to do with us.

Gamma hugs him.

GAMMA: I need to go get something for dinner. Please stay here and get some rest.

BETA: I hate you going alone.

GAMMA: I know, but until you get control of your power you’re basically useless

BETA: HEY!

GAMMA: Kidding! I’m kidding! I just... Thought I could cheer you up they way you do for me.

BETA: Well try not to cheer anyone else up. They might not find it as funny as I do. 

Gamma turns to the door and slips on a black jacket. 

GAMMA: You're right. I won't be long.

BETA: Hear you later.

The door closes lightly behind her and Beta is alone in the apartment.
