Running.Gasping. Breathing out of breath. Hitting the ground with a pound. Blood is everywhere. Smeared as if fingers has painted the street. Screaming came next. The world had stopped and stood still.
Cages. Locked up in a cell made with metal blocked in with nothing but a fine line between life and death. I day dream my days away for every hour of waste. No light is found in the darkness of my days and my mind plays games to make the memories fade away. Here's the funny part of all of this I don't even know how long I have been here or at least I am pretty sure I am the only one here. The cell smells of decay and rats crawl inside the walls. Grass has been growing out of the cracks, the bugs bit at my legs at night.A locked door shut up all alone with no home to go to.
Night and day are the same. As I said,I can't tell the difference. Not one widow to call my very own and nothing to look out for hope of god. I know what your probably think what you are still doing there? Trust me when I tell you that i have tried to knock the door down, scream at the top of my lungs, cry for help anything to get me out of the hell. Stuck here with no luck ,dying and ,not trying.
"Hello''? Frozen in time and space. A beam of light seeps through the crack under the door. I don't speak for afraid of what is outside. A shuffle of my feet and the voice speaks.
'' Please if there is someone there I am going to get you out just stand back''. With a bang I was black out.
White lights, white walls. Eyes starring at me with a look of question. A feeling of numbness rain through my veins. The blinding light finally gets better my vision comes back to life. Laying on white bed sheets, with a hospital gown on was not what I had in mind. I worn a bracelet that said: date of birth: 12/27/2000, name: Mary Kate, age: 18. My mind was racing on how they found out all of the info on the bracelet. Also leading to wonder how long I had been locked up in that cell and how I was still alive. Around the room only white walls were around, next to my bed was a tray with some sort of sandwich (as if I were suppose to eat, never take food from strangers). Through the room was not very large I still noticed that a nurse and doctor were still looking a me as if a alien was lying next to. At one point when looking at the nurse she came over to my bedside, and with the chart that she had in her hands wrote something down from the motor that was next to me. After she was done I looked beside me, and their was an IV in my arm, I don't really remember how I knew what it was, but some how I did. In all in my life I have never really been into a hospital, and if I have I don't remember very well.
A body. No not dead. Sleeping. A boy. Age around 18, a little taller than my height, but tried.Pale white skin; stuck to his bone from lack of food, hair dark brown, tangled in places not brushed, he was curled in to one side of the chair as if cold, skinny jeans with a tee that had some kind of band logo on the front and back. I wondered if it was the boy that saved me, chances were that it was because I had no memories of any childhood with a family. As I looked at him I noticed sitting next to him was a bag that must be full of who knows what, all I cared about was trying to thank him for his kindness, and saving me. Sadly; the problem was I couldn't, the doctor that was now the only one in the room was keeping a close eye on me as if I had a gun I was about to pull out. Yes I had a lot of questions, but you can't always trust the people you meet. When I look up at the doctor he still is starring but clears his throat and starts to speak.
"Well good morning ; i am glad to see you awake because what i am here to do is help you, and i can only do that if you listen to me carefully, are you ready to here what i am about to say"? A arched eyebrow looked right at me as i looked right back at it. I was scared about what he had to say , it could it hurt me it ways i never had even thought about ,but when it came down to there really wasn't a choice. While i starred at him with his perfectly combed hair and jet black eyes i refused to answer him, because while my heart was saying no but my brain saying yes i sat in silents.
'' OK, well then I will get to the point. See the first thing when the boy knocked the door down it hit not only your head , but it it your leg hard enough just to make a crack in it. Also your body weight is not to it's normal weight just yet so the tube that is in your arm will at least help you getting fluids into your system , I would like it if you could at least try to eat half of the sandwich ." Just glaring at him for the right amount of time finally got him out of the room. Now only the boy and I sat alone in the silent room. I wanted to ask him so many questions , but thought it rude to intrude on his peaceful sleep. As I looked at him curled into a ball in the chair, care free it made me think to myself than everything was going to OK. Finally dusk came with some rain and sleep was everything i was in need.
