Katie’s words rang inside her head, over and over again, but the more she thought about it the more her brain hurt. This dream was starting to seem more like a weird acid trip and Alisha wasn’t sure she was enjoying this ride at all.
Looking at her her hands, she shook them, flailing her arms around to see if anything would happen again - it didn’t, and now she just felt like a weirdo. By the way Katie was looking at her, she probably thought it too.
“You’re cute.”
Ok, maybe not?
“Thank you...can you, say it again?”
“Sure, you’re really cute.” Katie winked.
“No, not that, I mean thanks, you’re really pretty too, um I mean, not what I was trying to...you know, I-”
“I know.” Katie smiled, “You totally have the power to heal people, I mean everyone here has powers one way or another - although some are pretty damn useless. Healing powers are pretty rare though, so you should be careful so some bad people won’t catch you.”
She was not going to have a panic attack, no, she was going to take a deep breath - or a couple of deep breaths - and just lie down in the grass, it was fine, she was fine.
“Are you ok?” Katie asked, sitting down next to her and patting her head, “I can protect you, after all you did save my life, so no need to be scared.”
“That’s not the problem, it’s just too much, and I’m kinda lost.” sighing, she enjoyed Katie’s touch, “That feels nice…”
“You aren’t from around here, are you?”
Alisha laughed, “No, I am definitely not from around here.”
“I for one, am glad you got whisked away from where you used to live, or else I’d never have the pleasure to meet you.”
“And you might have died.”
“Sure, that too.”
“Why were you hurt?”
Katie stared at her, and her eyes looked clouded with worry and fear, “That’s a conversation for another time.”
Taking a moment to let the conversation sit and the silence stretch for far too long, something finally connected, “Wait, am I not the first person to just show up?”
“No, we’re in an influx of multiple parallel universes and far off worlds - or something like that, I honestly don’t really understand any of that stuff.”
“So, where am I exactly?”
“Right, where are my manners?” getting up, Katie bowed and extended her hand, “Welcome to Wyvern, world of all things freaky and weird.”
Taking her hand, Katie pulled her up, with a bit too much strength, making Alisha fall into her arms and so close together their noses almost touched. She had really pretty brown eyes, and Alisha could just lose herself in them - if it wasn’t for the whole other world situation she was going through right now.
After a second, she pulled away from Katie’s strong arms, because it was so not the time for this right now, “Can I go back?”
“Do you want to go back?”
“I don’t know…”
“Well, don’t worry, we’ll figure it out. And by we, I mean someone else I know that actually knows about this stuff. I’m more of the punch first and...that’s basically it...don’t worry, they’ll totally know what to do. I hope.”
“Great, I’m gonna die here.”
