The beautiful rays of the early morning sun filtered into the room and brightened it,the sound of the undead outside had become lighter but was still present,this was some kind of relieve.

Light knocks on Marco's door went unanswered and this worried Kara a lot,what could have happened to him?

Her dad was a light sleeper ,she could clearly remember  right from her younger days,when she used to sneak out of her room to steal cookies from her little jar,he would always appear at the entrance of the kitchen,with a big goofy smile and a knowing glint in his eyes,simply opening any of the room doors was enough to jolt him out of his sleep....so what was going on now?

A firm hand on her shoulder almost made her drop the plate of sliced fruits she wanted to bring to him.

"Stand back" Aiden's monotonous voice told  her from the back,this man was so unnerving and annoying to her,with his careless demeanour,there was something just off about him and she couldn't tell what.

"You know,for someone who wanted to get a degree in psychology you sure lack the calmness and professionalism for it or are you this judgemental only towards me" he said bluntly without showing anger or sarcasm.

"Only towards inhumane beings such as yourself" she seethed

"Well....you wouldn't have gone far..." A slap prevented Aiden from completing his sentence,he didn't even feel it but as he looked down at Kara he could see the sparkle of tears forming, did he go too far? Did he hit a soft spot?

"Don't speak like you know everything.....like you know me" Her expression held suppressed rage and a glint of determination.....he was envious of this.

However,their argument was interrupted by a thud on Marco's door,Aiden immediately brought out his hand gun and a pin "Why are you bringing out your gun,it's just my dad in there"

Aiden looked at her for a split second,she was obviously clueless,she had made no observations at all,she was just a normal girl that didn't know any better than to be a girl and somehow Aiden believed she should remain that way "It's just a precaution" he then started using what seemed to be a crooked needle to pick the lock till it clicked and opened,Aiden's gun was raised as he entered as carefully as he could.

Aiden screened the room and found Marco leaning against a wall.

"Can't an old man rest?" Marco said sarcastically,Aiden needed just one glance to tell that the man wasn't doing well,he was pale and had black bags under his eyes,he was sweating and Aiden also noticed that the inner part of his mouth was losing colour. 

"You look like shit" He commented while Kara pushed him aside in order to rush towards him and hug him "Old brute why are you looking so worn out" she said while hugging him tightly "I told you that I was coming down with something pumpkin,it will pass" as he hugged her back,he stared into Aiden's icy cold eyes and in that moment .....he knew that it was just a matter of time before he would become one of them.

In that moment Jonas rushed into the room,he had been on the balcony all morning hoping to hear from the other survivors "There is a kid in the next room,about sixteen years old,he said that he is confined to his room since his dad and mum both turned,while two rooms after his,there seems to be an-" he paused when he saw Marco..."What the hell is wrong with you?" Aiden immediately changed the subject "I doubt any of the undead are on this floor,no matter how quiet we were last night we made enough noise to be detected on this floor,so here is what we are going to do,first of all we need to clean out this building from the undead,as quickly as possible,meanwhile, someone will go through the secret passage and get my briefcase.." Jonas raised his hand "Why the briefcase?" 

"Because I have a sniping riffle, two silencers and another handgun in there and as things are we need as many weapons as possible" He then pointed outside the window "That's also why we must return to my hotel room and get all the guns I came with"

"Are you some kind of arms dealer?" Kara asked 

"A little worse.....anyway,is this all clear?" Aiden asked

There was a moment of silence before everyone nodded.

"Alright then,let's do this,remember to follow the plan".
