I sat at the desk in my room finishing my homework. Finished, I closed my book and leaned back in my chair, fingering the necklace I wore around my neck. I haven’t taken it off in ten years. Off the end of the golden chain hung a thin chunk of sea glass. Engraved in the glass is a face, a woman's face with sleeping eyes. I miss the young girl that had given it to me. “Avalon.” A strange name for a strange girl. It’s been four months since the last time I saw her, swam with her. A weird shiver ran down my spine. Getting up from my chair I grabbed my sweat shirt and headed out the door. I walked down the stairs, passing through the boys study and out the front door. I continued to walk the halls until I found myself out side and headed towards the forest. I love nature, the beautiful sights, sounds and smells. Avalon taught me to love nature, especially water. I wish I could live in the water, staying with her always. I followed the path, a sweet smell filled the air and I could feel it pulling at me.
I walked until I could hear laughter. As I got close I could see where the laughter was coming from. Three girls chased after each other around a small fire. Two guys sat off to the side sipping on sodas and watching the girls. Something pushed me, or it felt like I had been pushed through the trees and onto the beach. When I stepped out it’s like everything stopped. Everyone looked over at me. It took a moment but they all smiled. One of the girls walked over to me. She was beautiful with pale skin, bright ocean blue eyes and long blonde hair that hung down passed her shoulders. She wore blue and purple dyed, ripped shorts and a light blue tank top. The top looked like it had been shredded, long ways and in layers. But when she walked the cloth swayed and bounced around her. She walked up to me and took my hand.
“We’ve been waiting for you.” She said quietly. I looked into her eyes.
“How did you know I was coming?” she smiled and pulled me out of the darkness of the forest and into the light of the fire and the moon. They all surrounded me, a girl with long black hair started to talk.
