The wolf stopped in his tracks, looking terrified. Buddy could hear what his fellow classmates were mumbling amongst themselves.
“What is a wolf doing here?”
“He shouldn’t be here.”
Sara turned to him. “Be careful, wolves are vicious creatures. They aren’t as well-trained as us and can be very violent,” she said, eyes quickly darting between Buddy and the wolf.
The wolf put his head back down and began to quickly pace towards the instructor’s desk. He sat down, back towards the class, and said nothing. Soon, Mr. Bork walked in with a clipboard and the class immediately silenced themselves. He was a tall and fit man with dark brown hair. Mr. Bork had a reputation for being one of the strictest instructors around and everyone knew not to mess with him. Mr. Bork walked towards his desk, taking note of how many dogs he had for his class today. After making a quick note on his clipboard and setting it down on his desk, he put his full attention on the wolf sitting quietly next to him. He had a small note attached to his collar and Mr. Bork read it quickly. “Hello puppies,” Mr. Bork said with a strong voice. “Welcome back to this week’s class at Woof School. I know this is a bit strange and unorthodox, but please welcome your new classmate: Louvel. Please treat him as you would any other.” The class nodded at the instructor but held stiff glares towards the wolf. The wolf got up and walked to the wall of the class where the least amount of dogs and sat back down silently.
“Alright. I know we planned to do some racing today, but I decided that some tug rope would be fun, don’t you think?” he asked and several dogs jumped up, barking happily. Louvel still sat quietly next to the wall, eyes on Mr. Bork. “Let’s go out to the field!” he said and started leading the class out. Everyone had forgotten about their new classmate and cheerfully chatted as they followed their instructor. However, Louvel, keeping with his distant theme, trailed slowly behind everyone else.
