‘Vi, wake up~’ Winni sang sweetly. I mumbled a ‘no’ before she turned violent.
‘Silvia, up. Now!’ She picked up my copy of Sherlock Holmes, chucking it at my head
‘Ow! Fuck!’ I hissed, rubbing my sore forehead.
‘Language!’ Dad barked from his room. I rolled my eyes as Winni sniggered.
‘Out. Now.’ I spat at her, my voice dripping with venom. Her face went pale before she ran out of my room, nearly tripping over our Smithfield Red Heeler, Billie. I kicked the small dog out and shut my door. I quickly changed into my uniform; grey skirt, white shirt, blue tie, grey knee high socks with blue stripes, and black converse. I packed my school bag with fanfic books, novels and my laptop.
‘How was school yesterday, Silvia?’ Dad asked as I walked into the kitchen.
‘Fine, thanks for asking.’ I smirked, making a cup of tea and a plate of toast.
‘Silvia walked home with a boy!’ Winni snitched, mouth full of cereal.
‘Winifred!’ I barked at her.
‘Name, Silvia.’ Dad glared at me.
‘Not important.’
‘Silvia! Name!’
‘Fine! Spencer.’
‘Okay.’ Dad replied, typing quickly on his phone.
‘Dad! What are you doing?!’ I worriedly choked out.
‘Checking up on him. Hmmm...no criminal record...two jobs... your age...moderately handsome...Hmm.’ Dad’s phone makes a sound like the click of a camera.
‘Dad?!’ I stood there, taken aback by my father’s words and actions.
He tapped on his phone for a few minutes.
‘Aha! I approve!’ He chuckled, handing me his phone.
On it was a picture of a baby with my blonde hair and Spencer’s green eyes. I hit the randomise button on the app and a new picture popped up, showing a child with his brown hair and blue eyes.
‘Oh my god!’
‘Blasphemy is a sin.’ He joked, remembering the fact that we go to a Catholic school.
I rolled my eyes, inhaling my food before I grabbed my bag from where I left it on the countertop.
‘You ready?’ I turned to Winni.
‘Yes.’ She smiled sweetly, like the snake she is.
‘Lets go.’ I mumbled angrily, opening the front door.
‘Bye, Sil. See ya, Winni,’ Dad chuckled as we left.
‘Winni, you snitch!’ I spat, smacking her in the back of the head as we walked to school.
‘Ow. Bitch!’ She kicked me in the leg.
‘Ah! Fuck!’ I hissed, rubbing my shin.
‘Hey, Sil. Oh my God, are you okay?!’ Spencer ran up to us.
‘Hey, Spence. Yeah, I’m fine.’ I smiled reassuringly at him.
‘Good.’
‘Okay, see ya, lovebirds’ Winni smirked, running ahead.
I was about to retort before she disappeared from sight.
‘She will be the death of me.’ I grumbled, turning back to Spencer who chuckled at my remark.
‘Aw, don’t worry. She loves you. She’s just… a little pain.’ He quickly replied, seeing my soft pout.
‘Geez, Spence. I am not worried. Besides, I stole her copy of ‘Fifty Shames of Earl Grey’’ I chuckled.
He rolled his eyes.
‘C’mon, we’ll be late if we don't hurry.’
I smirked at his responsibility.
The rest of the day was a long dull drone of teachers talking and other kids being menaces. By the end of the day, I was ready to go back to bed.
‘Hey, Sil.’ Spencer smirked as he leaned on my locker.
‘Ello, Spence.’
‘How was class?’
‘Painful, as per usual.’
‘Ha.’
‘Can you move, please?’
‘Mmh, nope.’ His smirked stayed in place, much like himself.
‘Spenccccce! Moveeee!’ I whined, trying to get him to move out of the way.
‘Ugh fine, bossy.’ He rolled his green eyes, which I could get lost in.
‘I’m not bossy!’ I pouted, opening my locker.
‘Lies.’ He chuckled.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my stuff to go home.
‘Lets hit the road!’ He smiled.
‘Oh, uhm. I’m actually going to Mum’s tonight. So we have to take a slightly different way.’ I fumbled with my hands.
‘I know. This happens every week, remember.’ He sweetly petted my head.
I blushed, not knowing how to reply.
‘C’mon.’ He ushered me towards the gate.
Along the walk home, we talked about anime, fanfic and Netflix shows.
‘Have you seen Riverdale?’ I looked at him with questioning eyes.
‘Yeah, we watched it together, remember?’ He looked at me, worried.
‘Right. Ha, I forgot.’ I looked at the pavement as I kept walking.
‘So, Silvia. We kinda ignored the elephant in the room. Should we talk about it?’ He played with his fingers.
‘Uhm, yeah. Sorry. I’m still thinking. I promise I will eventually reply.’ I smiled. He looked down sadly.
‘Okay. We’re here.’ He mumbled and I felt awfully guilty.
‘See you tomorrow, Spence.’ I smiled.
‘See you, Sils.’ He smiled.
I walked up the front door and Mum opened it, pulling me inside.
‘Whoa! What th-‘
‘Silvia! Don’t you check your messages?! We are going to your grandma’s for a bonfire. Run for a shower. NOW!’ She hissed, pushing me towards the stairs.
I grumbled a witty reply and ran up the stairs.
‘You’re late, again. Was it Spencer?’ Winni smirked.
‘Zip it, twat.’ I barked, walking into my room.
I threw my bag down and grabbed my laptop. I rushingly ran into the bathroom connected to my room. Placing my laptop on the sink, I got ready for my shower.
With the water running down my body, I washed my short blonde hair.
After my shower, the next 20 minutes consisted of me running around, getting dressed and hearing my mum scream at me to hurry up.
‘Hey, Silvia.’ Mum’s boyfriend, Shanon, smiled at me as I walked downstairs.
‘Sup, Shan.’ I chuckled, jokingly punching his shoulder.
‘Silvia, stop being violent.’ Mum hissed, ushering us out the door.
‘So Silvia, any boy catch your eye yet?’ My aunt, Sara, smirked causing my mother to choke on her vodka cruiser.
‘Uhm, no not yet.’ I blushed.
‘Vi, can Spencer come over for my birthday party on Saturday?’ My little cousin, Rosie, looked up at me with her round, pleading eyes.
‘I’ll ask him.’
‘Yay!’ She smiled.
A few hours past of my mum’s family joking, the little ones playing in my gran’s lounge room and my aunts and uncles talking about literally everything.
‘So, Silvia, you are very blind.’ My uncle, Will, chuckled into his XXXX Gold.
‘How so.’ I asked
‘That Spencer kid, he really likes you. And I think you really like him too.’
‘What? Pfft. No.’
‘Yep, she’s head over heels.’ PJ chuckled.
‘No, I’m not.’
‘Mkay, Silv, I believe you.’ PJ smirked.
I pouted.
Another hour past before we went home.
At home I immediately crashed, exhausted by the large amount of talking and questions. As I fell asleep, one question scavenged my mind:
Do I love Spencer?
