“Now then, we shall take our leave. Please think about your words that you just said. We will be back in a day.” she snatched her body around and stormed out of the room.
He looked at his Father who stood there with his hands behind his back. He turned around and left without saying a word. As he sat down on the bed, he wondered if his parents loved him. Although they gave him the basic needs, there was no love in their words or in their actions.
Outside in the hall, Mother gripped the sides of her dress tightly as she stood on the red carpet and Father noticed. He folded his arms and saw that her jaw was side to side. He sighed, unfolding his arms as he moved his body down the hall, away from the door. Mother soon stormed a few fast-paced steps, muttering underneath her breath, “I regret ever giving birth to that boy.”
“Ha!” Father let out a laugh, “Your regret should not be with breathing life into his body but not killing him when you had the chance!”
Mother sighed, shaking her head, “I had assumed things would be getting better. That he would just submit and accept that he is ill. I never thought he would start to become curious.”
The two came to a flight of stairs that lead to the second floor. Father held out his hand and waited for Mother to set her hand on top of his. The pair elegantly traveled down the steps.
“It is natural that he would become curious. He is after all, still one of the Great Sun’s creations.” Father chuckled, “However, we shall take care of his curiosity. I will contact Doctor Junior and request that he may come to see our son.”
“What about Vanessa, Royce, and Oliver?” she asked as they took a final step down onto the second-floor hallway that mimicked the third hallway in décor. Red carpet, large lavish paintings hung from the wall along with multiple windows that held colorful drapes of green and white.
“They will be suspicious if we suddenly invited a Doctor into our mansion.” She stopped and turned to him.
“Do not worry. I will send them to one of the gatherings the Fargoes normally have. It’ll be good for Vanessa to learn about our culture. Especially since she’s eleven and already wants a visage.” Father said.
Mother let out a singsong laugh, “That she does. Anyway, I must go to the library and fetch Iesa that book he wanted. I shall see you later.” She turned and walked down the right wing hall that bustled with House Servants who held their head down as they walked by her.
Father rolled up his sleeve and pressed the silver bracelet that gripped onto his arm. With his left hand, he dug into the pockets of his slacks and brought out a small white earpiece. He stuffed it into his ear as he dawdled forward to another flight of stairs.
“Call Doctor Junior.” He mumbled and a ringing started in his ear. It took no time for the ringing to stop and someone to pick up on the other side.
“Hello?” a soothing voice answered.
“Good morning Briceson! How are you today my friend?” he greeted, descending the flight of stairs.
