There are three things a gentleman should never do, the first is be late. Being tardy is always something you should be carful about. Yes, you can be fashionably late, but being simply late is a completely different thing. Second would be being late with a meeting with a women. Surly, one does not want to be known by the women as 'the one who stood her up'. Third would be being late with a meeting with Veronica Van Enawind because if you are, you may as well start digging your own grave. Which honestly, is what I should be doing right now or rushing to the other side of this world. Instead I'm thinking up excuses for being late while jumping from roof to roof across the City Zones with Blestemat right behind me.
"I see the Van Enawind city roof top!" he panted while we sprinted and sure enough I could see the unique dome roof of Veronica's home shimmering in the afternoon sun. I ginned and replied, "Bravo, Blestemat." I took the final leap to reach the edge of roof then took my baton out to carefully place Blestemat and I on the steps of the Van Enawind residence.
I heard Blestemat mutter, "Make sure there's strawberry milk in my funeral," as I knocked on the grand doors. Looking down to make sure I was presentable, I completely missed the doors opening. I didn't miss the slap, though.
"Ouch, that hurt," I said, lifting my eyes towards a middle-aged blonde woman. Her blue eyes glared at me, "Aww, come on, I'm sorry I'm late?" She hit me again. Why are women so violent at times?
"Don't you dare 'aww' me, you lazy old man! Hurry and come inside, we're already behind schedule." She then proceeded to pull me into her grand home with strength not shown nor suited to in her dainty appearance. I frowned, 'Wait...I'm not that old, am I?'
