Note: This has like no romance in it. It's just a little fantasy thing of the reader interacting with Lon'qu from Fire Emblem.
---
It’s a beautifully comfortable, warm, and sunny spring day. There are some light wind breezes, but they mend well together with the warmth of the sun’s beams.
On the greenest, loveliest tree, you sit high in its branches, just fifteen feet from the ground. It’s a nice day to read up in this tree, you thought, so that is what you decided to do.
You have read a few pages of your book, which wasn’t really much. You flip the page to continue reading, but something coming your way distracts your attention.
Someone is walking towards you, or more precisely towards the tree you’ve tucked up in. It was a man dressed in a familiar garment that you’ve seen many times before. Now that you look up and closer at his face, you recognize him. He’s Lon’qu. He’s one that doesn’t seem to speak much, but has such a handsome and charming aura about him. You’ve never actually talked to him before, but you’ve encountered him occasionally in your day-to-day life, like seeing him walking along a road.
You stare, unmoving, just watching him as he gets closer and closer to you. Hmmm. It seems like he hasn’t seen or even noticed you. He reaches the tree that you are sitting up in and sits down, leaning his back against the tree’s trunk.
For some reason, you don’t seem like you want to bother him. He looked a bit tired and maybe he came here for an afternoon nap. So you try to pay him no mind and return to your book.
You continue reading.
And reading.
And some more reading.
Once again, reading.
But lastly, still reading.
Some time has passed. You have been focused on reading for a bit now, but you close your book slowly for a tiny break. As you place your book down on your lap, your ears notice very soft breathing. You turn and tilt your head downward to see that Lon’qu is still sitting there.
He must actually be sleeping, but you weren’t exactly sure. Your mind wanders and the first thing you think of is the facial expression that he usually wears, that you see so often. It’s not entirely an angry expression, but Lon’qu seems to always be wearing such a firm and slightly intimidating expression. Maybe now that he might be sleeping… he might have a very different facial expression on his resting face.
The curiosity has got a hold on you and you begin to shift your position on the tree branch to aim for a better angle of his face. However, you totally forgot about the book that sat on your lap. When you shifted a bit too much, the book slid off your lap and headed down, gravity clearly working and taking this book toward the ground.
You shut your eyes, not wanting to see and ready for the book to make a connection with Lon’qu’s skull.
Thunk.
You heard a sound, but it didn’t sound like how a falling book would when it connected with a head. And you didn’t hear any vocal reaction of pain, so you opened your eyes to see what happened.
The book laid right next to Lon’qu, on the green grass. You breathed a sigh of relief that you didn’t almost just kill someone.
Movement quickly caught your eye. If Lon’qu was asleep, he wasn’t anymore. He turned to look at the book, proving that he definitely heard it fall. He glanced around to see if this book had an owner and without warning, he looked up. He jumped when your eyes met, clearly startled and speechless. You, as well was speechless at first at the interesting expression he wore, as a man that didn’t seem to have the ability for such.
You broke the silent first.
“Hello. Sorry. Didn’t mean to wake you or startle you. Also, just so you know, I was here first and that I wasn’t here just to watch you or anything, even though it kind of looks like it right now. But see that book, I was really just reading and then you appeared…sorry.”
Lon’qu takes his eyes off of you and gets up. He picks up the book and sits it against the tree trunk at where he sat. He looks at you again, but this time with a firm expression on his face and a disbelief in his eyes. He says absolutely nothing and quickly walks off, away from you.
“W-w-WAIT! I’M NOT CREEPY, I SWEAR! I WAS JUST READING, TOTALLY NOT WATCHING YOU WITH INTENTIONS OF LOOKING AT YOUR SLEEPING FACE. BELIEVE ME!”
You shout in his direction as he continues to walk, making no sign of reacting or replying. Feeling totally misunderstood and defeated, you lay yourself down on the thick tree branch you sit on and mentally punch yourself.
