"So where are we going?" Gray asked. She didn't know what Em was getting so nervous over. Even if she was a little dizzy. And her chest was starting to hurt. It kind of hurt to breathe.
"Into the Woods," Em repeated.
Baltizara was surprisingly fast for an overgrown turtle. The gentle jostle and sway of the box made Gray want to hurl up her guts.
"Can you be a bit more specific," Gray said, leaning back against the bags piled up in the back.
"My friend Miso lives in the Woods. He can help you." Em didn't look over her shoulder, just snapped Baltizara's reins, though it didn't seem to affect her at all.
The box swayed and Gray pressed a hand to her stomach. Em's voice was too hazy to understand so she interrupted her. Gray felt fog creeping in through her ears. Okay, that was't exactly a normal feeling for her.
"There aren't... I don't believe- that there are-a-any forests. Around. Here." She spoke in starts and stops, waiting for the pain in her chest to recede. It didn't.
"These aren't ordinary woods." Gray couldn't tell if Em was fading out or she was just hearing funny. "I used to live there. They are... very hard to find."
Gray's vision blurred completely and her head bobbed back. "Em..." she rasped. "I think- I need... wat-er..."
