Music has a strange quality. It seems to take us to a different place. It can make us feel, make us cry, make us dance. But is it because of the music, or the memories we associate with it? Can a few random noises really have that much affect? I guess it depends. I suppose we gave these notes meaning, but was is it about song like “Come on Eileen” that makes you want to dance? Brains are fairly interesting, when it comes down to it. The fact that specific sounds in a specific order can produce such strong chemical reactions, such strong emotions, is amazing. The same is true for words too. Our brains are truly complex, yet so beautiful.
