Alisha’s thoughts clashed, on one hand she didn’t just want to read that book she needed to, on the other hand it was someone else’s property and it would be wrong - maybe. It wouldn’t hurt anyone, she wouldn’t steal it, but was it right to do? Groaning she knew Katie would totally sweetly call her adorable for overthinking things, and tell her she could just go for it, but...
Suddenly someone materialized out of thin air right in front of Alisha’s face, head tilted as if studying her and black eyes staring holes in her. Their complexion was slightly green, which was even more significantly odd, as was their fuzzy white hair that swayed in the still air.
“Hi?” Alisha’s voice was unsure.
“Snap out of it Max, you’re starting to be creepier than usual.”
Seemingly as if they were awoken, they smiled, and Alisha released the tension she hadn’t even noticed she was holding - they were cute and apparently quite friendly.
“Ah people, sweet sweet people. Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve had visits, especially from people I’ve never met, so I got a bit excited.”
Their words were fast, faster than Alisha was used to, but their energy was as warm as Katie’s.
“It’s ok, I’m sorry for snooping around.”
“Not at all, I’m just happy I have someone that appreciates all things knowledge and alike around, Katie is great and all but poor soul doesn’t understand anything.”
“Hey, that’s not true! I understand some things.” Katie complained, arms crossed.
“Sure you do.” Max smiled mockingly, “I should truly be the one apologizing for teleporting right in front of you. To be honest, I do it for fun, I enjoy seeing people’s reactions to it.”
“Ah, now I get why you and Katie are friends. You both like playing with people.”
“Well that’s just not fair.” Katie grumbled.
Alisha smiled, for once she had the upper hand with the help of Katie’s friend, huh maybe she also had fun playing around with people - she did not know that till now. Not important right now, yeah.
More serious now, she asked, “Can you help me?”
“That’s subjective, I can help you with a multitude of things, more specifically I won’t know until you explain it. Do I want to help you though, is a completely different question.”
Max definitely enjoyed their technicalities and was totally having fun, still Alisha could deal with it, after all whatever they said they were actually incredibly kind - she could feel it in her heart. Besides, Katie was right there, and she trusted her.
“I come from Earth, I don’t know what happened, or why I’m here. If this is even real...I’m just so confused, I don’t know what to do. Please help me.” she teared up as she talked, but didn’t allow for one drop to actually fall. Crying in front of other people was so terrifying, the vulnerability was suffocating, she hated doing it - with Katie though, it had been different.
“You want to go back, is that it?”
“I…”
