Suddenly pain struck his head and he fell to his knees. Ringing started up in his ears and he let out a weeping cry. He’s felt this pain before. It only lasts for a second but it sends his body into a cold sweat, and his legs numb. When the wave disappeared, he looked back at the window to see the Modest Moon, a pure white circle enlarged in the sky. It hovered over him and watched him be in pain.
He’s never seen the Modest Moon this large and close before. He wobbled up on his feet and touched the cold glass window. The white vent screeched and the music shut off. He turned his head, eyeing the white vent. The only time the music shuts off is when night has arrived. He swallowed, fearing the worst.
“Ladies and Gentlemen. This is the Vice Head House Servants Victoria Stein.” Surprisingly a young voice came through,
“Today is the Solis Ball for our Celestial Family; The Evergreens! This is a special occasion for them and we shall respect their decision to participate. I expect all of you, in thirty minutes, to leave the premises. You are not required to work tomorrow. I repeat you are not required to work tomorrow. Thank you!”
A few mansions down Merror Hill, standing in the trees lined on the sidewalk was a young man around the age of twenty. His tall slim body leaned against one of the trees as his crystal eyes were focused on the tip of the hill. He lifted his arm that held a silver stick that let out gray smoke and pressed it to his lips.
He breathed in the contents and exhaled a fume of grey smolder. Underneath he sang some of the lyrics of a song,
“♫ You kept calm like a stray bird
Flying immensely without a sense of morals and hope
Coming back with madness showing a smile of a storm ♫”
Within his ears, there was an incoming beep from the white shells. He pulled up his arm and left the silver stick between his lips and pressed one of the blue buttons on his wooden bracelet around his right wrist.
“They’re leaving.” A husky voice spoke from the shells.
He took the silver stick away from his lips and blew out grey smoke, “Perfect.” He grinned, reaching behind him to pull up his black hood over his short brown hair.
“I’ve been waiting since you told me this afternoon that they were leaving for the night.” He threw down the silver stick and stepped on it. Red sparks popped underneath his black boot and he pressed harder.
“Arent you dedicated?” the husky voice chuckled.
He grinned, “Of course. I need some Octiiv and the Evergreens are the richest Celestials right now in the Wintermore Sector.”
