“LISTEN TO ME!” Kaldea shouted while she used her newfound inhuman strength to uppercut Jon into the ceiling! But this would only anger the draconic being that once was Jon. Using an unknown power he’d place his hands forward creating a sphere of pure energy! Kaldea’s eyes would widen at the sight of this, pressing her arms upward in an X formation as if to block or rather shield herself from the worst to come.
“I owe you nothing… fallen deity. “ The dragon-like creature said before firing the blast towards the red-haired vixen! The eruption of energy would take her body in full, covering the entire corridor with a blistering red light! Ochigi would have dived over his wives body, protecting her from the heat of the blast as it scarred his back in the process.
“ Aghhhhh!” Ochigi shouted at the top of his lungs. “Hold on Diane! “ He said cradling her head in his arms while he gritted his teeth, blood leaking from the corner of his lips. Trying to take the brunt of the attack to the best of his abilities. And unlike most mortal men he would have been disintegrated upon connection. However, it could have been the love of his wife and child that allowed this normal man to withstand the blast of a god. Or perhaps there was something deep within him as well? Something just as undying as the soul of the creature that has taken over Jon’s body, mind, and soul.
As the dust cleared from the blast. Kaldea’s body was gone, and so had been the possessed Jon. All that was left had been Ochigi and Diane. Diane still had been within Ochigi’s arms. His body shook horribly and it was clear he was in an intense amount of pain.
“Diane… Diane…” He spoke to her, and a cough followed. Diane shuddered in his arms, somehow protected from the blast that scarred the entire remains of the corridor. A large hole was left in the ceiling of the area, and the moonlight shined through the large gaping hole. Glowing down on the duo as they sat in the cold air. The brisk winds blowing over Ochigi’s scarred back. His spine had been burned black, so harshly that it was seen through his red charred skin.
“I’m here Ochigi…” She reached out to touch his face with her right hand. Ochigi smiled in relief, taking her hand into his own. Only to then hear the sound of something hard landing behind them.
“No…” Ochigi whispered as he turned around over his shoulder just briefly to see the possessed Jon towering over them. In his hands had been a charred Kaldea. Her body brunt down to the bone dropping her to the ground as he towered over Ochigi and Diane. Ochigi turned around to face him and as he stood like a fool. Jon’s scaly hands gripped onto his throat. “L-Let me go! Leave us alone!”
Ochigi hammered at Jon’s wrist, but the emotionless deity simply stared at the puny human before him. He began to squeeze tighter. Choking the life out of Ochigi as he applied more pressure around his throat. Ochigi began to cough blood, his eyes turning into a bright red.
Diane scurried backward, while she watched the horror unfold, her hand accidentally scrapping over a black metallic blade that seemed to be under some of the icy rubble!
“J-Jon! Bro… it’s… Me… It’s me J-dog!” The possessed Jon’s eyes squinted. “C’mon bro… it’s… it’s just me and you and us guys out here. Remember!” He said within gasps of air. And for a moment. It almost seemed like Jon responded to these memoired gestures as his expression softened. If only for a brief second. But his scowl returned, that scowl filled with the wrath of a god as he proceeded to attempt to snap Ochigi's neck. Until…
“ Let go of my husband! “ Diane would have rammed the black blade she stumbled upon into Jon’s glowing chest! The weapon managed to break through his hard flesh despite his draconic like state. The impact made the creature howl in pain as it backed away, only to slash its tail across Diane’s face and chest before leaping into the air. Scratching! Blasting off into the air, swiftly, it sounded like a sonic boom would rip through the air!
Ochigi dropped, landing to his knees. “Diane! “ He cried, crawling towards his wife’s side. Her face gushed and overflowed with blood as the wound left her in fatal condition.
“No! No, Diane! Hold on! I-I-I can fix this! I can!” Ochigi was frantic as he scrambled to find an answer to this like it had been any of his other past equations. Nothing made sense right now. Nothing he could do would make a difference. What could he do? A mortal man. Not a damn thing when opposed by the powers of a god.
“T-The baby…” Diane sputtered with blood lodged deep in her throat. Her shaky bloody palms reached up to take grip of Ochigi’s broken face. “You… have to save… the baby…”
Ochigi drew still at his wife's senseless request. " WHAT!? You can't, you'll die, Diane!" He didn't even try to hide the anger in his voice. " You can't be serious!? And I don't even have any equipment!" He thrived with rage as he slid his hands over his face. His breathing was so heavy it looked as if his heart would burst from his chest.
"Please... don't let my baby die." She whimpered. Her voice was flimsier than a feather, it grew muffled and slow. Ochigi burst into tears as he shouted from the top of his lungs. Taking a grip of his blade, pressing it to his chest, he looked into Diane's eyes.
"I love you... so much. " His tone wavered and his eyes drifted close one more time.
"Tetsu..." Diane breathed the named.
"What?" Ochigi said, looking into his wife's clamming eyes. "Like... my grandfather?" He panted and wiped the tears from his face.
"Yes... like your grandfather, he was such a kind man. I want my little Tetsu to be just as sweet... and kind... as he was to me when you first introduced me to him." She smiled and closed her eyes. Diane was losing blood. Ochigi knew this, he knew that he had to act fast.
So he did.
Thirty minutes or so past and Ochigi was still standing over his beloved wife's lifeless carcass. Her stomach cavity still split open as a crying newborn rested in his arms. He cradled the child. A baby boy. He was swaddled in the torn remains of Kaldea's jacket. Diane's clouded eyes sat lazily open. Ochigi squatted down before closing them shut for the final time. He had no more tears. A look of shock was etched across his face. Anger and sorrow numbed him to the core.
A few hours passed. Ochigi exited the mountain, staring ahead towards the rising sun. The darkness left with the moon as light poured from the morning sun overhead. Though, the light within Ochigi had died. A once ember red fire now burned a cool blue. He took one step and then another as he proceeded into the underbelly of the icy wastes. A snowstorm had been approaching him and his newborn son, but even this did not stop him. Perhaps, he was lost in madness. But that night left him unable to return to Prime Exocore. The storm consumed him and Tetsu both. Their shadows devour by the chaos of nature..
