The night helped him hideaway within the trees near the Evergreen Mansions gate. He ogled at the long front automobiles dressed in gold leaving the premises. Five of them left the Mansion’s driveway. They each held the members of the Evergreen family except for one.
A Celestial with short black hair, and ruby eyes. He walked with a crooked walk and laughed a crooked laugh and what helped him walk was the cane of the Moore Family. Shivers went down his back when he saw the Celestial man strut down the cobblestone road to one of the automobiles. There were strange things that surrounded the Moore Family, especially about their daughter who suddenly vanished five years ago.
He sighed, climbing down from the tree. He strolled up to the tall brick wall that surrounded the entire one-mile radius of the mansion. He twisted his bracelet and inhaled. He leaped up the wall and over it, landing on his feet like a cat. The first part was done. Gently he rose and searched through the thick greenery.
A thought ran through his mind, “Celestials normally have Echos around but…I'm not seeing anything.”
He took a small step forward, waiting to hear the buzzing of an Echo shooting up from the ground. They were small monitors that recorded the activity around a home and if something was seen, it would alert the patrols. Normally Celestials would carry hundreds of Echos in their yard and he would be able to disable them with a snap of his fingers. When there was nothing, he shifted to the left and began to move forward suspiciously.
He found the cobblestone path that led to the mansions front doors but before he stepped foot onto it, he lifted it bracelet and pressed a green button. This clothed his body invisible. He moved onto the cobblestone path and strolled up to the front grey front doors that leered over his body. He pressed his right hand against the door and spread his fingers apart.
“Open this world for me.” He whispered and suddenly a large enchantment circle with white and purple colors appeared on the door. The circle spiraled around, and strange letters appeared within the small circles that were engulfed within the large circle. A sting of pain pulsated from his chest and he frowned. The door’s lock unclicked four times before it opened for him automatically.
“Not even a proper seal on the door? What kind of family is this?” he questioned, strolling into the mansion.
The doors closed shut behind him and suddenly a heaviness pushed onto his body along with a second thought. He stopped in his tracks and scanned the void that awaited him. There was something about the way the darkness was within the mansion. He could barely see anything that didn’t have the moons light shining on it and that was the floor.
He took a couple of more steps forward and the heels of his shoes clacked, echoing within the foyer. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he pulled out his small black flashlight that was hidden within his jacket pocket.
He did a quick sweep around the circle foyer, pointing the light at the six doors that laid beyond the detailed pillars, the paintings that were on the walls, the golden chandelier that hung above his head and the green Evergreen Crest engraved in the marble floor.
