Trial pt. 1

“You have got to be kidding me!” I screamed at the officer, obviously angry.

“Shut Up! Criminal”

“You can’t believe I would kill my father, he was my last family member after my mother died in a plane crash.” The rest of the ride was dead silent. After the long ride I was yanked out of the car. The policeman pinned me against the wall in the small station and called for backup to pat me down.

They aggressively shoved me in one of the temporary cells with someone almost 6 times my age.

“So whaddya in for?”the man asked.

“I was accused for the murder of my father.” The man just nodded and smiled in delight, his crooked orange-yellow teeth peeking through.

“That’s great, I robbed a bank and shot someone!” He sounded very proud while saying it.

“That’s horrible,” I yelled.

“It’s nothing compared to you,” he exclaimed.

“Shut Up!” I screamed. The police officer yelled at me to calm down and I continued to whisper to this strange man, so I didn’t go insane.

“I’m sorry for angering you, my name’s Arturo. What about you little girl?”

“I’m Naomi,” I whispered. The conversation ended abruptly after I realized Arturo had called me a ‘little girl’ After sitting in the corner of the jail cell with Arturo staring at me I was yanked out of the small creaky cell. The policeman took me outside. Arturo waved goodbye and I didn't wave back.

“For now you will stay at the local orphanage until we get deeper into the case. The juvie is too far away.” the officer said. I didn’t reply, I just rolled my eyes. It was a long drive the local orphanage was still 1 hour away, on a large hill. When we arrived I sat on a cold, metal bench outside while the officer talked to the lady inside.

She had short brown hair, acne-filled skin, hazel eyes. She looked worried, and constantly glanced in my direction. After they talked they beckoned me inside … and it was a mess. There were naked babies running around children throwing paint everywhere.

“Are you really gonna make me stay here?” They looked down at me.

“No you’re going to have a ‘special’ room,” The officer said. They grabbed each of my hands and walked me upstairs. The lady opened the door and … it Was BEAUTIFUL! It was like my room but better. There was a snow cone machine in the corner of the room. “This is where you’ll be staying until we get deeper into the case.” When I walked deeper inside they slammed the door shut. I’m stuck aren't I.
