It had been four hours since those guys came in and caused a scene. Everything resumed as it normally would, the cooks kept cooking, and customers kept coming on in, like nothing happened. Of course some of the broken dishes may have given away what happen.
Finally, it was closing time, my favorite time. I was typically the last to leave, because of all the dishes we went thru today, and I cleaned the floors while I was at it. This time thou, I had some help from a few of the cooks. Made me feel like I didn't do a good job at it, until one of them told me how they thought I was pretty badass for hitting that bastard upside the head with a pitcher.
I'm sure it's still coming out if my paycheck...
Before I left, G had called me to his office...
"Michel!"
"Yes, boss?" I answered.
"Can I talk to you for a minute."
"Sure."
His office was pretty bland. Just a desk with a computer, some filing cabinets, and picture hanging on the wall.
"Take a seat." he said, and I did.
"What's this about sir?" I asked.
G looked troubled. Something was on his mind, and I didn't like that on bit.
Finally, he said, "I'm sorry, but I have to let you go."
"What!? Why?"
"I got a call from the Atlanta P.D. and they got a call from that man you beat upside the head. They said that he's willing to forgive the incident, if I fire you."
"And you said yes?"
"Hell no, I said no. But they insisted on it, and said they could shut my place down, and you know how much I love this here restaurant."
"I know..."
"Then you know why."
"Yes, and I'm sorry for all the trouble it must have caused."
"Don't, I actually enjoyed it."
"So...I guess this is goodbye for now?"
"Yeah," G got up and extended his hand towards me, "Goodbye, for now."
I shake'd his hand and left. Stepping out of the back of the restaurant, I grabbed my laptop out of my locker--actually forgot I brought it--and leaned against the building wall. Starting it up, I continued my research, but not about Seekers, but about the Fist I saw.
There was a lot I didn't know, and those guys seemed awfully shady for just being costumers. I typed in "The Fist" in my search bar, and found a lot about it. The Fist was actually a crime gang, that have several bases out in Georgia, New York, Las Vagus, and everywhere around the east coast. Charged with multiple crimes of homicide, illegal possession of drugs, disruption of those drugs, etc, etc...
"Holy shit. I just kicked one of their guy's asses, and they could kill me." I said to myself.
This day couldn't get worse...right?
I took my time getting home. Getting fired from my job is gonna put a hurt on me for awhile, and I promised to pay rent soon, so this is serious problem. If I can't pay rent by the end of this month, then I'm out on the streets. My aunt and uncle won't pay, not unless I bring my grades up in school by now and forever. Thing's can't get worse, right?
Wrong...
A hand grabs me, and pulls me into the ally I was next. I was thrown on to the ground, and my head slammed against it. Looking up, my attackers all looked like blurs for a moment, but soon they came into focus, and I knew who they were.
They were the guys from the restaurant, and they looked pissed.
"How's it goin'" said the blond guy I beat, "You look hurt, I told Bruce not to throw you down to hard." he looked at the big guy standing behind him, "Didn't I?"
"Sorry man, but he was so weak, I didn't know how to throw him.", Bruce said.
"It's cool, I mean, I just want him to know his place in the world, like everybody else should."
"What are you talking about, jackass."
"Still got talk, then let me show you"
His body began to spas and contort. Soon, his muscles started to grow, and they looked like they were going to pop at any moment. His skin stretched and tore, as his muscles grew larger and larger. Then his face started to mold and change into some...other creature.
In the end, the man who was in front of me was no more. All that was left was a beast-like-animal, standing on two fat, muscular legs, with gray hair, black soulless eyes, and teeth that were sharp and went in all sorts of directions. It had a large, fat body, and was twice my size.
"W-w-what?" I stuttered, stunned by what I was seeing.
The creature picked me up in one hand, and tossed me against the brick wall of a nearby building. It picked up again, and this time threw me in the air, allowing me to fall towards the ground. When I landed, it felt like I broke both my left leg and arm in the fall.
It picked me up one last time, and this time, I knew he was about to finish the job...
"So. Now you understand?" it said.
"I understand that what you mama did to you." I fired back.
"What?"
"She must have be really desperate to fuck a pig, just so she could have you."
I was in a lot of pain, so that was the best I could come up with.
But it still pissed him off...
"NO ONE TALKS ABOUT MY MOTHER LIKE THAT!" He yelled, throwing me higher into the air this time, so high that I could see Six Flags from here.
"Wow, so this is how I'm going to die..." I said to myself, "Well shit."
I began my decent to death, and slowly, memories of my life started to flow into my mind. The one I could see vividly, was the day my sister abandoned me.
It was dark and rainy that day...
"Gabby, why are you leaving me?" my younger self asked.
"Because Michel, I need to live my life, and I can't take care of you forever."
"But I don't want to stay with our aunt and uncle, I want to stay with you!"
"I know, and When I come back, Michel, we'll live in a big house, and we can be together there forever, how's that sound?"
My younger self gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. He could barely hold in his feelings. Our sister started to leave, and that was when he couldn't take it...
"I know you'll never come back!" he yelled, "You just want to leave me behind, so you can just do what you want! You never cared about me!"
Gabby got in a taxi, and my younger self started to chase after it.
As the taxi drove away, my younger self yelled...
"You not my sister anymore!"
I could never forget that day, but as reality started to reform, I could see the ground only a few feet away. "This is it." I thought.
But it wasn't.
Something grabbed me, and saved me from falling. I could fell a swoosh of air, and hands under me, lifting me away from danger. The creature starred stunned at what saved me, and I was stunned to.
When I turned around, there he was, the bastard himself...
Kolt.
"Phew...just made it." he said.
"H-how..." I began, but he cut me off."
"No time, just let me take care of theses freaks, okay?"
The creature busted out in laughter, like Kolt had just told some joke.
"Do you really think you can beat me Seeker?" it asked.
"Only on way to find out, now, is there?" Kolt held out his right arm, and a strange blue energy started to surround it.
Soon, four rings, made of pure, white light wrapped around his arm.
"Because I'm gonna send you to your grave."
