Maybe it was Magic?
She was back in her Village. Which was completely impossible. Jamie looked around, baffled, until her Eyes finally glued to the couple that had transported themselves to this place before her.
Tensely, she watched them wander through the streets, the woman still shrieking and giggling at everything. Suddenly, One of the Farmers she knew came around a corner, but before she could see his reaction, something far more terrifying than everything before happened:
He walked right through the couple. Jamie wobbled back, bumped into something hard and warm, and now couldn´t hold back a small scream. She turned around quickly to look into Laeloles Eyes, who had obviously followed her.
„Hello, is this your first time... Oh my God, a Ghost! Where is his Chain?“, exclaimed a Voice behind her.
Jamie turned back around. The Couple had approached them, and the woman then recognized Laelole by his ears.
Her Brain started working fast, and all her options flashed before her eyes.
The Chain had to be a way to protect a human from a Ghost, one of the machines Laelole had mentioned, that eliminated their magic Powers.
The weirdly clothed people would feel threatened and call for help.
Maybe they should just attack them, as they had planned earlier.
Laelole grabbed one of her arms from behind and she heard the scared whispers of the Woman.
No! That couldn´t be a good plan. She didn´t know if this Place was being monitored. She didn´t even really know where they were, much less how to escape from it.
There was only one solution.
She lowered her head, turned around in one swing and rammed it into Laeoloes Stomach, so hard that he gasped and almost dropped down to his knees. Jamie fixated his gray eyes, that looked surprised and confused.
„Trust me.“, she whispered.
„Keha...yes.“, he answered.
She let one anxious breath escape her mouth, then screamed again and ran towards the couple that had started to panic.
„I don´t know how this could´ve happened! He said there was something in his chain – that something got stuck there! I thought I knew... then he suddenly grabbed me! I let go of the Chain – Oh my god, help me!“, she rambled while pacing towards them.
The woman turned white.
„Oh my god, you poor child. We have to call security. Vernon, do something!“
Shivering, Jamie looked back at Laelole, who took a few steps towards them and then lifted his hands threatingly. It would have been a funny sight, not at all scary, but it seemed to work for the couple.
Jamie halted and started to wonder for a second. Why did the Ghost even trust her after the short time they had spent together? Maybe it was normal for them to trust Strangers more quickly? Was this part of the reason why his parents had been captured?
She quickly awakened from her distracting thoughts and watched the woman scream into a small machine, that she had been carrying with her.
Next thing she did was put her hands on Jamies shoulders and look at her full of concern. A wave of cheap Perfume rolled over her.
Jamie didn´t like it when people thought she was much younger than she actually was, but in this case, it sure worked out to her benefit.
„Where is your Identification Card?“, the woman asked calmly, eying Laelole with every word.
„He – he took it from me..and threw it...“
„Oh, shit! They won´t let you take your slave with you later on, if you don´t have it!“
Jamie gulped hard. She didn´t know enough about this world to entirely play her cards right.
Dull Footsteps started getting louder around them, and she heard some Man call out with harsh voices. Someone was coming "to their rescue".
„Can you...“
Jamie whimpered and pretended to shiver.
„Can you give me yours? Just until I have my Ghost back?“
„Oh no, sweetie, that´s not possible. But don´t worry, they´ll contact your parents and they can identify you from every working computer.“
Jamie didn´t understand everything the woman said, but one thing was as clear as daylight: She was in deep shit. She twisted her face into a false smile and almost flinched again when at least fifteen Men stepped out of the walls of the houses surrounding them. They were clothed like the men Laelole had hid them from this morning, carrying the deadly weapons with them, that he had explained to her.
Sweat ran down her nose and her scalp started itching. This didn´t go like planned. Not that she had much of a plan to begin with.
