It wasn't grand, it wasn't tall, the architecture wasn't astounding, and the stone wasn't sturdy. Rather, it was a dilapidated reminder of the past; a lost monarchy. What used to be pure white walls that seemed to reach the sky, now stood yellowing pillars sunken in sand. In the middle of the desert, with nothing of importance in any direction, these ruins stood. Over a millennia ago, an ancient family ruled over the vast desert. The desert was equipped with a large water source used for watering camels and nourishing nearby plants. The family in question were unnaturally beautiful; covered in draping white garbs and jewels of expensive backgrounds. They had immense power and commanded the area into prosperity. Nothing necessarily happened that brought an end to their reign, they simply just lived. Time, as it does to all things, brought an end to everything. It was destined to fall one way or another, that is the fate of all countries. Instead of being replaced by another regime, the people without a prosperous leader, eventually died out. Through the neglect, years passed, and the empire was forgotten. The buildings were buried under copious amounts of sand, and with no written language or records showing of the existence of these peoples, the sand began to accumulate until nothing was left that could be discerned with the eye. A monarchy has ceased.
