The woman eagerly rowed her boat towards the river bank, crying helplessly. She almost fell when she stood up and jumped for the land. Clutching tightly on her bag of food, she ran towards the forest, not stopping to catch a breath. It's been three days since she was captured by the hunters, but she knows that her children can feed themselves, she taught them how to. She made a swift turn towards the tall grass, combing them with her hand as she ran and hop. She clearly remembered her instructions, “Stay here.” she firmly said, “Stay put and hide. Do not let them find you.” She started running faster, excited to see her children, hug them tightly even. It's been a tiring day. When she reached the clearing, she fell on her knees and froze. The tree she's looking for is already fried into a coal, under it, two small bodies were burnt. Embracing each other.
She lets out a loud cry, almost as if it can be heard from all sides of the forest. The woman struggled to walk towards the corpses. She kneels in front of them, leaned forward and hugged their burnt bodies, tears welled up and flowed from her eyes. Her lips trembling uncontrollably.
Slowly, her eyes glowed into a bright pair of white light, her hair glowed blue and her skin becomes pale white, the dirt all over her vanishes into thin air. The leaves and fog gathered around her, swirling, forming a small but strong hurricane. From her temples grew two crystal-like horns that glows bright blue.
“I will kill them all!” Aoife cried. “I will kill them all!”
“Um… hello?” A young man appeared behind Aiofe. “Sorry miss, I was taking a leak and I heard you crying so I checked you out, see what’s happening… uh sorry I’m blabbering I do it a lot, um can I help you?”
Aiofe turned towards the young man. He’s a lean boy with brown hair and eyes. He wears leather armor on top of his white shirt and taupe colored pants, matched with a pair of black greaves. He carries a sword on his back.
“Woah, wait.. Woah! You have horns!” the young man surprised.
“RAAAHHHHH!”
“Holyshit, waaait!” a huge chunk of rock suddenly flew towards the young man, he jumped and rolled towards the side, missing the rock by an inch. “What the hell, please don’t kill me!”
Aoife stomped her feet on the ground and more chunks of rocks suddenly jumped off from the ground and sent hurling towards the young man.
“Oh come on!” the young man sighed. He tumbled and ran, escaping the giant rocks thrown at him. “You know my dad’s right… but he’s also wrong.”
“He told me demons are very powerful beings and I should always train myself harder so I can defeat them.” the young man draws his sword. “But he’s quite wrong to tell all demons are ugly. Hell, those glowing horns just makes you more beautiful.”
Aoife paused, surprised. “You talk too much!” she growled before stomping both her feet and cracking the ground beneath her. Through the cracks comes out a spray of rocks and mud that seems to fly towards the young man.
“Yeah.. I get that a lot.” the young man points his sword towards Aoife. He smiled confidently before dashing towards her.
---
The young man carries Aoife on his arms as he walks towards their camp. Her horns starts to grow short until it disappeared.
“Oy, Augustus!” a large red-haired man called, “where have you been?”
“Dad! You won’t believe this.”
