"Now, let me get this straight: you're all saying that my brother is a king?" Jahmiah Washington snapped as he faced Sean.
"Yes he is," said Sean. "Your father and older brother were killed in a train accident and your brother didn't have any kids, so that makes your brother the king."
"Indeed," said Jaronte Washington with a strange look on his face.
"It's not like no one told us that we were royalty," said Deanna Washington Thornton. "Especially since our uncle Raymond Washington was king before our father took the throne. But how and why no one told us this is beyond unacceptable."
"For shame," said Mobley. "You'd think someone would say something about this by now."
"I'm sure that whoever did this did it out of maliciousness," said Sean. "But not to worry, as we're going to find out what sort of injustice that was committed against your family and punish the offending person."
"Well, before you do that, you first must explain to us what's going on here," said Joshua. "I already know my family's history, but would you mind explaining to me how I'm the king of Columbiana and why none of my cousins are sitting on the throne."
"Be that as it may, the truth about your family will come out eventually," said Sean. "But first, we must go to Saint Louis to face the Kingdom of Columbiana."
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" said Mobley."Should we be taking them to Columbiana so soon?"
"Yes this is a good idea, Maverick," said Sean. "Why do you ask?"
"Because according to the news, you, me, Jacquelyn, and Marika were on the train that struck the train that Wyatt and Eugene were riding on," said Mobley.
"Don't you mean King Wyatt and Prince Eugene?" Jacquelyn snapped as she corrected Mobley. "Learn to use the proper titles, Mobley!"
"He'll learn soon, Jacquelyn," said Sean. "But for now, we have to get to the airport and show those tabloid naysayers that we're still alive and well."
"As if we walked away from the train crash without being injured," said Marika, "Which I think is unfair to the families of those who were injured or killed in the train crash."
"Such as the King and the Prince," said Jacquelyn.
"Yes, exactly that," said Marika. "How are we supposed to be in the train crash when we weren't on the train in the first place?"
"Indeed," said Mobley.
Before we could answer that question, let's see what happened when the Washington family went to the airport...
* * * * *
Of course, the entire news media had gotten word of the Washington family's arrival at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, and to say that Joshua wasn't happy that news reporters were shoving microphones in his face and the paparazzi taking pictures of him and his family was an understatement.
As in, he wasn't happy about the whole thing at all.
"I don't know how you handle all this chaos, Sean," said Joshua as they dodged yet another overly eager journalist who rudely blocked their path. (Mobley was more than happy to knock down the offending person and push several more people aside so the king could walk past them.)
"Well, I'm an actor, so I'm used to this kind of behavior from the media," said Sean, "so it really doesn't affect me."
"But I thought you were a news reporter," Jaronte cut in.
"You should never call me a news reporter as long as you live," Sean hissed in anger.
"Why not?" said Jaronte.
"Because I don't like it when people call me a news reporter," said Sean. "It makes me annoyed if people call me a news reporter."
"OK, then," said Jaronte.
Yet despite Sean's insistence that he was annoyed at being called a news reporter, he and his cousins had to deal with questions being directed at them, as they had survived the train accident that had killed King Wyatt and Prince Eugene.
If that was true, then you should wait for the next chapter, where the Cousins and the Washingtons discover the horrors of Columbianan royal life...
