A hot tear rolled down against her flushed face. I tucked a lock of her chocolate brown hair behind her ear, sending a chill down her spine.
“W-why?” She pleaded in a raspy voice, but I ignored her.
I grabbed the red handle hatchet from the cherry oak table, quickly turned around, and shut my eyes when I hit her.
Kluunk.
I opened my eyes and saw the hatchet dug in right into her left collarbone. Her hazel eyes her widened.
Tears rolled down my face; my hand shivered as I reached over to dry her face. “Forgive me,” I whispered into her ear, “For I have sinned.”
I gave her a kiss on the cheek, grabbed my phone, and called someone for help. Not long afterwards, a friend came over. He roughly hit me on the shoulder a few times.
“I’m sorry it had to be like this, but she would of blown our cover- all of us. And we spied on this mob for too many years, just be ruined by a -“
“My fiancée,” I stared at him, then back at her tied up on the wooden chair, “I know.”
“I’ll deal with this,” he nodded at me and stared back at the table.
Without a second thought, I walked out of the basement and went to my room and passed out.
I woke up, and smelled breakfast.
Waffles and fresh coffee.
But…
I tip-toed out of bed and walked down the stairs.
“You’re awake?” I saw Jade in the kitchen.
My eyes widen. Was that just a dream?
“Yeah!” I smiled, walking over to her, “I had this crazy dream-“
I walked closer, and saw my friend, dead.
He was chopped up into pieces by the kitchen’s island.
“It’s okay,” Jade said as she turned to me, holding a knife, “I forgive you.” The red handle hatchet was still stuck in her collarbone, her eyes were gone and black ooze dripped down.
She walked closer to me, and I tried shoving her away, causing her on top of me. I tried grabbing the hatchet, but it was too slippery.
She coyly smiled as she stabbed my chest.
The black ooze and my warm blood entwined together.
I stared at my fiancée, then back at my dead friend.
My eyes grew heavy, and I was no longer able to open them.
“Together, at least,” she whispered, as I felt her tuck a lock of my hair behind my ear.
