I stood in my night clothes, gazing over the ocean waves to the sunrise. Soft taps on the hardwood flooring sounded as my husband, Gerald, came up behind me. He lightly grasped my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.
“Ready to find those mountains you’re always telling me about?” he whispers softly into my ear.
I let out a soft hum and replied, “Why wouldn’t I be? I’ve waited 16 years for this day.”
“Though I would’ve expected you to be running around packing supplies like there’s no tomorrow,” Gerald jokes.
I turned around to face him, and wrapped my arms around his neck. I set a gentle, loving kiss upon my husbands lips and replied, “I’ve already done that. The bags are in the chopper along with the food, water, and any other supplies needed.”
Gerald smiled and rewarded my readiness with a kiss before resting his forehead on mine. “I always knew you were an early bird.”
I smirked and shook my head in a response to his humor. Letting my arms fall from Gerald's neck, I made my way to our room to get dressed.. I heard Gerald’s slightly heavier steps behind me. Once I made it to the room, I quickly walking and closed the door. My hands turned the lack and a satisfying ‘click’ made it all the better as my husbands defeated groan followed shortly after.
The sound of the door lock clicked and I instantly knew she locked it from the inside. A groan escapes my throat as I know she won’t open up. I decided to frie up the helicopter and begrudgingly made my way through the house and out the front door. Walking into the drivers sead, I noticed that Helen had indeed packed all out stuff already.
I sighed and said to myself, “That’s my Helen. Always wanted it done beforehand. Never a procrastinator.”
I started the helicopter and listened to the engine while waiting for my wife to finish. A few minutes later she came out wearing clothes like adventurers in the movies. Still looks beautiful as ever.
Helen got into the helicopter and buckles herself in. SHe gave me a thumbs up signaling she’s ready to go. I nodded my head once to her and started towards our destination.

It’s been more than three hours since Helen and I left the house. We’ve now made it to where Helen says that these floating mountains are supposed to be located. I see nothing but clouds. But of course, my wonderful wife sees more than that and leans out the door for a better view.
I swerve to the left and notice something from the side window. Helen, too, noticed and I see her scrunch her face up for a better look. After the clouds clear up, we get a better view of this mysterious thing.
She gasped with excitement and shouted over the noise of the helicopter, “The islands in the sky are real!”
