It seemed like the door was supposed to be hidden, however still noticeable from where I was standing. I said supposed because it’s in the far side of the kitchen with a wall right in front of it. You normally wouldn’t see it unless you were looking for it, however I’m just a snoop so in a way I was looking for it.
After the kitchen I headed back out the way I came and stood staring at the flights of stairs. One headed up towards the ceiling and the other, down towards that floor, like a regular flight of stairs that would lead to the upper floor and the basement. However the one heading down towards the basement seemed to have a green light shining from further down the stairs. I decided to go against my curiosity and and go up the stairs instead. It seemed like the better choice, since I was unsure as to when my mom and Ty would come back and I was pretty sure that Charles had headed up this way. So either way he’d be my way out if I got in trouble for snooping.
Once on the stairs I realized that I got a lot more than I bargained for, I say this because there are about twelve sets of stairs. All of which are lined with doors. Some are locked, which is to be expected. However others are either doors to more stairs or doors to random rooms. Like more kitchens, rooms mashed together to make what looked like a super room, rooms with no gravity or too much gravity, not to mention the ones that literally have different galaxies inside rather then a room.
Eventually I had finally reached the top floor, and looked into all of the doors that I could on the stairs, but it seemed that the doors would just never end. Almost like a door nightmare. Even worse there were doors on the really tall ceiling, which I question considering Ty is 5’3”. The ceiling must have been about twenty feet high overall, which again I didn’t quite understand. I decided to skip those doors considering that I was both unable to get up there, and I was not tall enough to reach the door handles, not to mention a couple of them were leaking.
After not opening those doors and moving onto the next set, I felt like I should start knocking on the doors in case Charles was sitting on the crapper on the other side. Because knowing him if he was in a rush to use the bathroom he would have forgotten to lock the door. After opening as many doors as I could in the hallway I found myself facing a crossroad. I mean that literally. The hallway continued forwards, left and right, I wouldn’t have been surprised if there were secret doors that lead up or down.
I decided to follow the red and black carpet I’m walking on, and go straight. Although the colour of the carpet stays the same the design changes, from the medieval spears to a smaller pattern with swords. The carpet to the left was black with red designs that flowed nicely over to the right, but the pattern shifts between the two, only slightly, but I wouldn’t risk it. After awhile I became bored of finding odd things, although they never cease to amaze me.I just got bored of walking around, opening endless doors, and decide to go look for Charles like I was originally doing. Because damn I’d been snooping for about an hour, and there had been no sign of him.
