I wake up and yawn as my father bangs on my door, telling me to get ready for the first day of school. I try to remember the dream I was having, but it slips away. I sigh as I get out of bed and put on a black shirt, black jeggings, spiked combat boots and my hoodie before picking up the black backpack, heading downstairs for food and then off to catch the bus. I eat quickly and leave the house before he, or that stupid club girl, notices I'm gone. I sigh, tomorrow is my sixteenth birthday and today is the first day of school, yuck. I look the other kids at the stop and see that they are deadpan and mellow, one or two most likely stoned. I should explain that I’m in a bad part of town: abandoned houses, graffiti, broken glass, run down cars, alcohol, and of course drugs. Other kids look me over every now and than, judging me by looks and appearance, I grimace and pull up my hood hiding my purple eyes and Raven-black hair, with purple highlights, from the other kids. I watch as the bus pulls up, I get on and sit in an empty seat near the middle. All the other kids just laugh and chat with other kids, soon the bus is almost full a few seats are left, however not the one beside me. At the second to last stop there are five boys, with three of them wearing matching sets of black clothes the other two in white shirts and jeans. Other kids moved so the boys could sit in a group and one of them just plopped down beside me, facing the center and his friends. I look him over, then I look out the window into the still dark sky. We reached the school and everyone heads off to different places and I slide into the office to see if they had a schedule for me yet.

“How may I help you miss?” The receptionist asked me sweetly.
“Hi, I’m Luna Eclipse, I transferred in over the summer and I was told you would have a schedule for me,” I say taping the toe of my shoe on the floor waiting as she clicked through a few things on the computer and printed out a slip of paper.
“Here you go Luna, just let me know if you need anything else, oh and there is a map of the school on the back,” The lady said waving me on and started talking to one of the kids that came in while I was waiting. I sigh and flip it to the map as I slip into the hallway. I follow the map up to the library where it says kids can hang out until the bell, which is also close to my first class of the day, Spanish III. I find a corner in the library away from other kids. I sit on the floor between two shelves planning on waiting for the bell and getting to class unseen. It was not meant to be, the five boys from my bus swagger over to the area I was in. They flopped down into chairs or onto the floor. I sigh and put in my earbuds, turn my music on, and turn up the volume. I watch as they talk, laugh and mess around, I sigh wishing that I had a group of friends to hang out with. I pull out my sketchbook and start to sketched the ocean-blue eyed boy. When I finish it, I see that I had drawn him with blue-black, feathered wings. I look up and see that when he leans down he has tattoos on his back, of a pair of blue-black feathered wings. I sigh softly and decide to draw the others as well, two midnight-black winged and two pearl-white winged. I decided to look at the time and I see that I had missed my first four, of six, classes and that I should have been in my fifth class thirty minutes ago. I look down at my sketch book and sigh, I always lose track of time when I’m drawing. I look at the five boys and see that three are napping and two are talking quietly about a girl. I wonder if I could get out without them seeing me. I put the sketchbook into my bag and I stand whispering a small prayer that they won’t see me. I walk behind them and I slid out of the library and out of the school without anyone seeing me and walk to the public library a few blocks away and I sneak in the back way unseen. I sit at a computer and login. I go to the school website to get the work for all my classes. I gave the school only my numbers and emails so my father did not get any messages. I submit the work for all of my classes and I log off going to a small cubie to sit in out of sight. I hear people come and go, and I look up when I hear the gang of boys from school walk past the cubie. I glance out and see them sitting at a table a few feet away from me and I know if I leave the cubie they would see me. I lean back and tuck my legs into the cubie and relax pulling out my sketch book again and I decide to sketch myself. I glance at the time every now and then making sure I will leave the library on time. I smile softly to myself as I see that I have peral-white wings with blue-black tips. I look at the time again and see that I have only four minutes until the library closes. I sigh and peek out and see that they are still there and all of them awake and talking to each other. I sigh and stand up grabbing my bag hoping that they will not see me as I slide out of the cubie. I walk out the doors unnoticed and groan as I walk the few miles home just having missed the bus. I arrived home around five, unlock the door, go to the kitchen, and grab the plate of food that was left on the table for me. I walk up to my room and listen, and realize I'm home alone for once. I pop the plate into my personal microwave and I flop on my bed opening my computer to do some shopping online now that I know what some of the clothes looks like.
