Apparently this sunday the National Meeting of Electrical Engineering was happening. And none other than Thales Mile, PhD in Magnetic Fields and its implications, was giving a speech. Guess The Scorpio is a big fan. He invaded the hotel were the event was going on, took the man and went to the top floor to have a little chat. The police evacuated everyone and surrounded the area. Dad is now giving them instructions. And the press is recording everything. Hope the news tonight are interesting.
My orders are to secure the hostage and capture the target. As I walk through the reception and see no traps or anything, I start to think that might not be so difficult. The elevator is powered on. I press the thirtieth button, the doors close and the box doesn’t move even an inch. Odd. I wait a few seconds and still nothing. Opening the top of the elevator I see the cables were cut after it returned to the first floor. Guess a grappling hook and rope really are necessity-like gear after all…
Climbing the damned elevator shaft I contemplate that I could break a part or two of the bastard who had to cut the freaking cables before capturing him, perhaps his neck. A tempting option. But the helmet’s intercom interrupts me from planning it.
“Where are you now?” Guess is too dark in here for mom or the team to see through the camera.
“Twenty eighth floor.” My voice comes out broken with my body moving.
“Once you get to the top floor the room should be right in front of you. But be careful.”
“Hey, wouldn’t it have been easier to drop me there with a helicopter?”
“Not an option, there seem to be a couple of automatic turrets up there.”
I sigh. “I have to capture him alive, but not necessarily healthy, right?”
After finally reaching the top and forcing the shaft door open, I look at the corridor and let the helmet’s software scan for abnormalities, when it says there are none I jump, retrieve my climbing equipment and proceed to the room.
Breaking through I make contact with who I have been looking for. Close to the edge of the chamber where the glass wall stands are the scholar and the villain. Up close he is not that menacing. The pit black armor and the headpiece detail that resembles a scorpion tail sure do add to the dramatic effect. But I gotta say I’m not all that impressed.
“Finish him off.” Says a distorted voice from a tablet mister Mile is holding.
Almost immediately a leg is aiming at my head. I manage to defend, but hell is that guy strong and fast! He connects a series of punches, another kick and tries to leg sweep me. I put some distance between us and take the batons from the belt. Pressing a button they expand and get electrified. I jump and hit him with them from up to down. He counters, but I defend and he flinches. Guess electricity and high-conductive metals are not a good combo.
Before I can celebrate a small victory the tablet says “we’re done” and an explosion happens above us, shattering the glass wall. The Scorpio glances at my belt, pulls Thales and drops him through the new opening. As I jump to save the poor screaming man, my enemy takes his leave by gliding to the surrounding buildings during the commotion.
