Big families in the LDS church are known to be loud, rowdy, and generally obnoxious. Luckily, my family only has one loud mouth. Little Gracie. Gracie is the youngest in the family, she's six years old and the best ice skater six year-olds have ever seen. But during church, she either has to be coloring in her coloring book or she'll be screaming all the way to the car (we take our children out to the car if they won't settle down). At least our family isn't the loudest family. The Brodrures have two toddlers and one infant and man. They. are. loud. But usually it isn't too bad so...
Sorry about the ranting, I just really like peace and quiet sometimes. Hi, I am Savanna Watingale (usually Anna) and I am sixteen years old and a laurel in Young Women's. Sundays are usually the craziest day of the week, mainly because we are a big family going to a church building where you are supposed to be quiet and reverent. Oh well, I guess it can't be helped.
Anyway, since now Sacrament Meeting (the first of three hours of church) is over, we are all going to our sunday school classes. Since I'm a laurel, I go to a class with only Priests and Laurels (aka the sixteen and seventeen year-old boys and girls). This month is April, so we are learning about the Apostasy and the Restoration. The Apostasy is when the church was removed from the earth after Jesus Christ died. The Restoration is when the gospel was once again taught on the earth. Today we are talking about the Restoration and why it was so important. Then after sunday school we (the young women) go to our Young Women's class.
After church usually isn't much. We go home from church and have lunch and sleep for a few hours. After about three hours, everyone's awake, and Mom has dinner going. Dinner is usually something simple like corndogs or waffles, because it's Sunday and everyone is too tired to actually want to cook. After dinner we play a board game or a card game. Today we're playing The Game Of Life where you pretty much go through life, but on a board game, and in a little plastic car. Since there's like eight people and four cars, we each always have partners. Mom and Dad are a team, then Me and Ali, Ella and Ref, and Gracie with Shirui.
"Okay, Gracie and Iru, you guys go first since you're youngest." Mom said after everyone got their pawns in their cars and everything else set up.
Iru and Gracie talked to try to decide which way they wanted to go first, college path or career path. Everyone usually chooses college path, because you are more likely to get a good paying job.
After they came to a consensus, Iru said, "We want to do college path," as she moved their pawns after Gracie flicked the spinner that tells you how many spaces you jump.
Next was Ella and Ref, and they followed on the heels of Iru and Gracie. After everyone had gotten through the game had finally started. Everyone was strategizing and coming up with how to best playout everything that happened. The game lasted about an hour and a half, with everyone getting ready for bed afterwards.
