“...Hey, wake up.”
“5 more minutes…”
She had slept at 6 in the morning, thinking of a backstory was harder than it looked. She wanted to sleep more, and she needed to, but a hand on her shoulder shook her awake.
“Fruh, wake up.” It was her uncle, that much she recognized. Though, she kept her eyes closed, she turned away from her uncle.
“Just…give me 5 more minutes.” She told him, pulling closer the covers and slowly drifting back to sleep. She could hear him sigh, then there was a hand on her shoulder.
“Fruh…come on, wake up.”
“Uncle I’m really tired…” She told him “I’m just…going to sleep longer and stay at the apartment…okay?” She tells him, he sighed.
“…I’ll be going to church again. If you plan to go out or if you want to come with me tell me alright? Also make sure to lock the doors.
A-and…Food’s on the table okay?”
“Yah yah uncle…” She told him, then drifting back to sleep.
Eventually she woke up on her own free will, slowly she sat up and scratched her eyes. She stretched and looked to her clock. It was already 11:42 in the morning, she had missed breakfast again. She rubbed her eyes and stretched, then looking around. She vaguely remembered there being food on the table, there always was. Seeing that it was midday, she expected her uncle to be at work like he always was.
She was alone again, but she was perfectly fine with that. Fruh then got off the bed and walked over to the kitchen. Before she left however she noticed her laptop, she smiled when she remembered the hardwork she put on the document about Kotone’s backstory. Now that some elements were clearer, she knew how serious Kotone’s backstory was. Childhood friend that she used to play with and used to like was placed in a comatose, nothing too serious but she hoped they would wake up.
She just needed a trigger however, and she had some idea of what it would be. Maybe if said friend didn’t wake up? Or maybe that their situation got worse enough that Kotone noticed? She had to decide, since she wanted the whole backstory to be looked into. Nodding she went to the kitchen, excited to start revealing Kotone’s backstory later once she irons out the final details. She just hoped that her uncle didn’t drag her outside the room tonight.

Tuesday morning had arrived, the same harsh cold still had its grasp on the Alterneo. Students walked to and from the Yellow Brick Road, there then was Kotone who set up at MLP Basement. Though, the musician wasn’t playing music. She stared off into the distance, not playing the guitar in her hands like she usually did. Silence filled the Yellow Brick Road, and only small chatter populated it.

Missing. There was something missing in the air tonight. Morgan had grown used to it being missing for a while. Today seemed no different from the days before but he then spots Kotone. Her guitar at hand, but no songs or music came from the muse. Something was missing, but it wasn’t because the source of the sounds was no longer present. It made the situation…curious. He thought she would play, yet after a minute of standing there in silence she hadn’t. He decided to inquire.
“Kotone,” Morgan called out as he approached the musician. His face was stoic but make no mistake there was some concern as he noted her space out. But asking her so suddenly about it when they haven’t seen each other in a while wasn’t the way to go. “How has it been?” He instead asks.

Kotone looked up and, after a few seconds of silence she spoke.
“Ah, Morgan.” She recognizes, her voice almost a whisper. “How…long were you standing there?” She asked him.

The question was left unanswered, but her response incurred a mix of curiosity and worry within him. She didn’t notice his approach, nor did she seem to note the passage of time. Concerning, this all was. “Is everything alright?” He asks. “You look out of yourself.”

Kotone looked at Morgan in the eyes. She looked up to the tall white-haired man.
“I’m fine.” She tells him Though she attempted to smile, to ease Morgan with her next reply, her eyes betrayed her. “It’s nothing.” She tells him.
PascoEveryday (8:10 PM)
Morgan could see it in her eyes, there was nothing fine. If a musician cannot find the urge to play her tunes or find the power to emulate her voice as she spoke, then in there seemed something wrong. Was she being affected maybe? By what they found?
“Kotone. Are you sure you’re feeling well?” Morgan asked, kneeling in front of Kotone. “You can always tell me.”

Kotone looked at the offer, yet she shook her head. “I’m fine. Thank you.” She says, then the bell rang. Kotone looked at Morgan. “What time is it though?” she asks.

Mardock saw a familiar two at MLP. Seeing as he had time, he approached. He waved to catch their attention.

That was weird. Fruh looked at the thread, a bit confused. Though she shook off the feeling. It was new, but nothing to be of alarm.
Kotone was in a bad mood she thought, she figured she still needed to think it over before she opened up. After all, she had just received the news of her friend passing away. Who could think properly when an incident like that had occurred? Fruh thought this seemed fine to use the thread to show that Kotone was not feeling okay. It set her back a bit, but it should be fine.
Though, the thread ended when the formal session barely started. They still had a lot of time…
Ping.
She saw that Leonor had replied. Mardock also had sneaked a reply into the thread before Kotone had left. Leonor apologized for being late out of character, Fruh reassured the Little Red’s RPer that it was okay. Mardock simply left the thread, so did Morgan. Fruh wondered if she should make another thread or make a story post, then another ping caught her attention. She then gets another notification. It wasn’t someone joining and replying to the thread late, it was another message from another user.
PascoEveryday: Hey Spring! I was wondering if Morgan can try to talk to Kotone again? The thread ended so quickly, and we still have a lot of time.
Fruh looked at the message, and she felt quite glad at the offer. She quickly replied.
LikeSpringRain: Sure! I was thinking the same thing! Sorry again for the abrupt ending huhu.
PascoEveryday: It’s fine! No need to apologize.
Fruh then started to type up a thread while formal was still up and everyone was awake.

[ One on One with Morgan ]
It was 11 in the Alterneo. The bell rung. Students around her either headed for Glass Hall and its cafeteria, or they headed to their next classes. Some unlucky ones had to run for it due to the distance.
Kotone on the other hand slowly stepped out of the classroom, her head down. She couldn’t pay attention to classes, her mind in deep thought over something.

Morgan had followed the musician, especially with such worrying responses to him earlier. He had the time anyway, so he waited for Kotone outside the classroom. When he spots her, he notices that she looked rather downcast. Increasing his worry. “Kotone.” He calls out, attempting to catch her attention.

Kotone looked up, seeing Morgan. “Morgan…?” She says, though her voice seemed to reach barely a whisper or a mutter.

Morgan approached Kotone, noting how she spoke yet was barely audible. The more signs that appeared, the more this worried Morgan. Especially given the investigations into the mystery and what it seemed to be about. (She couldn’t possibly be…) He thought, but he decides to ask her himself.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” He starts off, getting straight to the point. “You don’t seem too well. And you’ve been spacing out a lot.” He points out.
“…Have you looked a mirror recently maybe? Or felt something…strange happening?”

So many questions…Kotone stays quiet. She looks hesitant to say anything about her situation.

Morgan watched as no reply came, he then put a hand on Kotone’s shoulder.
“Listen, you can tell me.” Morgan told her, “You helped me back then. Remember you and Mardock lent your ears to me. I think I should repay that by lending an ear to what’s troubling you.” Morgan tells her. Some parts of himself hoping it’s just something in Kotone’s life, some parts wishing it wasn’t what he thought it was.

Kotone felt the hand on her shoulder and looked at Morgan in the eye. Again, her expression betrays her. Hesitation shows, but then she speaks.
“I’m fine, Morgan.” She tells him, then she looked back down. “I…need to go somewhere…”

Fruh paused. The thread ended so quickly again. That was the perfect opportunity to develop the arc further, to reveal what was bugging her to a close friend, but to shut him down like that again…Something did not feel right.
Fruh stared at the screen that illuminated the pitch-black room, it grew rather cold in the room. She had hoped Morgan wouldn’t let Kotone leave, but he does. Fruh again felt weird as no progress had been made when it should have. Her character should have been able to open up.
Ping. A notification. Fruh looked and saw it was Pasco.
PascoEveryday: Thread end? Is it okay to ask something Spring?
Fruh thought about replying, then refrained from it. She looked back to the thread which had ended so abruptly again. She wondered how to proceed, all the while a strange feeling stirred within her.
She thought about leaving it and making a story post, but she decided against it. She feels like interacting should be able to bring it out, but it needs someone who has a stronger connection to her than Morgan. That narrowed down the options, as well as the list of people she can go to. Her mind settled on one name, she decided to go from there.
Fruh clicked the new message link and typed in the name of Leonor’s RPer.
LikeSpringRain: Hey Orpheus! I was wondering if we could maybe have a one on one session? I just need some help with Kotone huhu.
Luckily, Orpheus was quick on the replies.
TheTragicOrpheus: Ah yes please! I was wondering if we could! I should be available soon, just let me leave my thread! I will join you soon.
