He didn’t know much of this place, so he knew no idea of where the food was. So he just wandered around. He caught a glimpse of people near the fire.
Now would be the right time to snatch some food. But something grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “Where are you going?” Adina said through her teeth. He cried out and pulled away. “You’re mad at me?” he said. “No I’m not! Why are you out of your shelter?” He opened his mouth to respond but quickly shut it. She glared at him and pulled him along.
“Where are you bringing me?” He said trying to let go of her strong grip. “I’m taking you back to your shelter.” she said. “No!” he said. He yanked his arm away and ran in the opposite direction. He glanced back but Adina just stood there.
She shook her head, but luckily went the other way. After a while of running around in circles, he finally found a group of older people eating food. As he came in, he saw a seat and decided to sit down. He sat next to a very old woman and decided to control his famishness in front of the elder. Jack looked on the table to spot for any food, but the food was already served. Sadly, it wasn’t a food buffet, where you can eat anything you see. Jack’s stomach growled loudly as the elder glanced at him. He noticed that she left her food untouched. He observed the food and managed to say, “Wow..” The elder than sighed, and pushed her plate to him.
He was about to gobble it, but then looked at elder for permission. “How do you know I…” “Child, I can read anyone's thoughts. Now eat your food before you starve.”
Being the kid he was, he gobbled it all. Delicious he thought. After Jackwas done, he thanked the elder and walked out into the field.
The thought just occurred to him that he should have stuffed some food on his tunic. Great he thought. He went back to his shelter.
