Shoot! If that plan didn’t work, then I don’t know what will. At this point, if I were you, I’d probably throw in the towel and let her forget about me.

But I know how much Janice means to you, and I don’t want you to be miserable. So we shouldn’t give up so soon.

You know what? You should have a formal discussion with her, right there and then, face-to-face. Explain that you DO have feelings and you ARE real on the inside, and that you’re not just a “fake person”. Plead if you have to. If a letter can’t speak for itself, then maybe you should. It might be a most desperate course of action, but it’s what we got. I wish you good luck.
