She then continued to cry while sitting. Alex then came behind her and rubbed her back. “Are you okay?” Alex asked her in a concerned voice. She continued to cry as she could no longer speak. “It must feel like a metal rod stabbing through your heart knowing you’ve been forgotten.” He said. “I thought he would remember me if I came back. But he didn’t. Why are boys so stupid?” she cried harder talking about it. “It’s not all boys just boys like Chase. Besides He’ll eventually remember, just give him some time. He may seem dull minded but it just takes him a little time to catch on.” He said understanding what was going on. “How did you know I was crying?” Nikeya asked still sobbing. “Could hear you from the game so I quickly muted your character from Chase’s user. Then I waited for you to get off the phone with your dad and then I told Chase I had to use the bathroom so I muted my character as well so I could talk to you.” He answered. “Oh. So are you gonna tell him about this?” Nikeya asked as she started to cry less. “Actually, no I’m gonna have you tell him. But I’ll help you along the way, just make things easier. But the longer you take the harder it’s gonna be.” He told her. “Thanks, but it's gonna take him a long time to remember. Like you said he’s gonna take a while to warm up to me. He doesn’t even like me like he did in the past. I saw it when he complimented me on my character, he wasn’t blushing or didn’t act nervous about giving me a compliment. It’s like he sees me as a friend only. It’s as if we didn’t meet in the past like he didn’t even make the promise.” Nikeya began to start crying again and this time it was almost like rain it. “You’re not entirely right about him having feelings about you. I’m not Chase but I know he’ll remember and still like you like he did before. Besides my job has already started earlier this morning he called me and told me he had a strange dream about him and a girl playing in a park. He was wondering what it meant but I couldn’t give him a straight answer on it because I didn’t know what to tell him. I knew it was you he was talking about when I first saw you come from outside his house earlier today.” He told her explaining what he knew about the situation at hand. Nikeya’s tears came to a halt but they still fell. “You mean there’s a chance he might remember me?” She ask in a voice that was extremely fragile. “I can’t say for certain but I know there’s a high probability that he might.” He answered her. “Now if you’ll excuse me I really have to go use the bathroom. I wasn’t just telling that to Chase just to lie.” Alex then walked off to the bathroom in the other room. Five minutes passed and Alex came back and sighed. “Man, to think you were the second person Chase befriended in his lifetime. Your dad should be arriving in a few seconds let's go greet him and talk about the situation and the resolution to it.” He told her. Nikeya nodded and stood up wiping her eyes. They both walked to the front door. Alex opened the door just as Nikeya’s father was about to knock on the door.
A boy has to remember and relive the events that he doesn't ever want to go back to. His life was once filled with happiness, friendship, and love, but is now only filled with regret.
