How to describe the pain I was feeling? After Kolt placed that damned coin on my head, and it dissolved into my skin, I felt a sudden rush of sharp, burning pain all over my body. Overcome with pain, my vision quickly blacked out.

It started from my face, sown my neck, and to my four other limbs. I guess the only other way to express how it felt, was if you take it back to the old west--like in the days of cowboys--and being executed by having rope tied to your limbs, and having the horses connected to them, then on the order of "pull" the horses would run off in different directions taking a part of you with them.

Nasty way to die.

But like Kolt said, that was only the beginning. The next part was when the pain went back up to my face, and straight towards my head.

This is were things get weird.

At some point I stopped feeling the pain, and a kinda blissful sensation came over me. It was like I didn't have a care in the world. I could just lay here all the time, in the blissful darkness. But as I feel into the blissful retreat, a voice started to call me out. Soon, I found myself being pulled from the darkness, and into the light--the voice still calling out to me.

I open my eyes and I was no longer in the bedroom, but a strange new place. The only way to describe it was like a world made of blue...everything! This whole world was made of nothing but the color blue--blue grass, blue dirt, blue sky(that didn't change).

"Hey!" someone called out.

I look in the direction of the voice, and all that was their was a little gray dog. Taking another look around, I try to find that voice again.

"Over here! Dumbass."

I look at the dog again, and am sure it was coming from its direction.

"D-did you call me?" I ask the dog.

"Who do you think? Dumbass." it spoke.

I crawl back--in shock--away from the dog. "T-talking dog!"

It gasped. "Oh no! Talking human! Big whoop. Dumbass."

"W-what? How?"

"Look, don't worry about it. Dumbass."

"Who are you?"

The dog cocks its head. "Didn't I say don't worry? Dumbass."

"Would you stop calling me a dumbass!" I yelled.

"No. Dumbass."

I sighed. I guess that coin had some...other, side effects Kolt didn't talk about. Like talking dogs that call you a dumbass for no reason.

"Hey It's just the way I talk!" it shouted.

"Can you read minds?" I asked.

It nodded.

"Well that's great." I sighed, "So, what are you supposed to be?"

"I'm your guide. Dumbass."

"My guide?"

"That's right! Anyone who uses the black coin is given a guide to help teach them the next phase."

"So your gonna teach me?"

"Better! I'm gonna eat you!"

"WHAT?!"

In an instant, the dog skin began to tear off and grow in size. Its teeth were as sharp as daggers, and its eyes had a silver glow to them. It now towered over me with a hungry look to it.

It snapped at me with its dagger like teeth, but I quickly rolled out of the way. I looked back and saw the hole the dog made with its powerful jaws. Again, it attacked me with its mouth, but this time catching me by the arm--piercing my skin--throwing be into a boulder. I get up clenching my bleeding arm. The beast circled around me, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Clenching my teeth, I yelled...

"Why the hell are you attacking me!?"

The dog beast growled, not saying a word.

"Answer me!"

Finally, it broke its silents.

"This is a test." It said.

"Ah test?"

"That's right. I guess I should have been more honest about who I am." It stopped circling, and stood in front of me, "I am the spirit of the black coin."

Spirit of the coin? Sounds like a cheesy video game.

"My job is to test those that use this coins power, and find out if they are worthy to receive the knowledge in side it."

"And what happens to those who fail?"

"They die."

Guess I got no choice. I either die like a coward, or try to put up a fight. Next to my feet, I notice a nicely shaped stone, that mimic'd a club. I picked it up with two hands, and hold it steady."

"Oh? So you choose to fight." the beast laughed, "Poor choice."

In a flash, the beast lunged at me swinging its claw towards my neck. I back off so fast that I surprised myself, and charge at the beast. Club in hand, I swing at the beast's skull, but my attack did little damage. It catches the club in its mouth, and breaks it in two. Finally, it slashes at me one last time, and I'm sent flying.

I hit the ground hard. Blood covered my entire body, and I could feel myself going numb. None of my attacks did a thing, their was no way I could escape this. But something it said caught my attention. When it said "poor choice" it didn't sound like he was mocking me, but criticizing my choice like a teacher would.

That's when I figured it out.

I sat down with my head hung high. The beast was right on top of me, waiting for my next move. Its eyes piercing into my soul.

"What? Not gonna fight? Dumbass." it teased.

"Nope." I said, "What would be the point?"

"So you admit you lost?"

"No." my answer surprised it, "You've just been playing with me. You could have finished me off at any moment, but you didn't. My guess, is that your just trying to see if I was worthy enough to know when to stop fighting, is that right?"

Its smile told the whole truth, and it turned back into it's dog form.

"That's right." it said, "The whole test was to see if you had the brain capacity to know when am opponent actually means to do harm. Check your arm."

It was right. The arm he bit into had no wounds, not even a imprint. It was like this never even happen.

"So why?" I asked.

"Well," it began, "sometimes, humans can be brash and not think properly. That is a death sentience for a Seeker, so I had to make sure you knew when to give up a fight against a powerful opponent. Once you came to terms with your weakness, that was when I knew I could trust you. See, I'm now apart of you."

"I don't understand?"

"You will. Just know that after today, you will never lose to no one. I will make sure of that."

"I see, thank you" I bowed my head in respect.

"Well get up! You spent enough time here. Dumbass."

And we're back to name calling.

"Wait! What about my lessons? Wasn't I supposed to be taught how to control Mana or something?"

It laughed. "You all ready have been. Try it when you wake up."

"Wake up?"

As soon as he said that, I was taken away from this world in a flash of light. It all faded from existences, the blue world and the gray beast dog. Everything was replaced by A blinding white light.

And soon I was back in my world.
