Rolling over my body was a little sore. My mind felt like it had been hit by a few different attack spells. After a few minutes, my eyes were able to open and I seemed to be able to control my body better. Sitting up and looking around, realizing quickly that this is not where I was supposed to be. Taking in my surroundings also made me realize that my clothing was wrong. Accessing my stat screen my blood froze.

Closing my stat screen and trying to calm myself, everything would be okay, the Dev’s would fix this. They would figure out what the glitch was and find a way to restore my character.
“Hello,” a voice said. It was light and soothing.
Turning to look around, but there was no one here. “Oh, how rude of me.” the voice said before a wisp appeared in front of me. It was light blue. “My name is Alic, I am here to help you get adjusted, though you probably don't need me very long.”
“I don’t understand. I was a Light elf level 350, this is a massive glitch. Is my brother okay?”
“As far as I know he is still in the hospital. There was a massive lightning storm and it knocked out power for the whole city, then lightning struck your house causing a massive power surge. You died and were reborn here, but your brother's capsule was on a different set and it started emergency release proceedings and was able to kick him out of the game, so he just suffered some light burns as his capsule got hit.”
“That doesn't make sense, I cannot be dead I am right here.”
“Right, that is the whole reborn thing. When you died because of your connection to Etis online, the Goddess of this world decided that you should be brought here, to the World of Etis. She has given you a second chance at life. There have been others who have been given this honor of being saved from death, but it rarely happens. I do believe she is watching your brother as well.”
“I don’t see how this is a good thing though, why couldn’t she had just saved me on my own planet if she is so powerful?”
“She has no power to interfere on another gods planet. She was able to take your soul and bring it here because when you died your soul slipped from the grasp of the world you were in. She has given you a great boon, please remember that.”
“Why me?”
“You spent a lot of time in Etis Online, so much you were almost constantly there. You studied lore, and lived with others as well as loved the world. I was surprised when she showed me the level of detail in Etis online. There were some things that were different from here, but it was clear that a resident of Etis was reborn on earth and they remember parts of this world. Etis is a planet about five times the size of earth. There are so many things to do here it would take lifetimes to learn them all. There are thousands of races.” Alic said before stopping for a moment.
“You will have an advantage over most others you still remember your lore, that will help you. Also because of the goddesses blessing you are immortal. Upon death, you will respawn. That isn’t unique, but to get the ability to respawn here usually, you need to join an adventuring guild. But to get immortality you would normally need to be an immortal race. So I would select one of those when you choose your race, or people may get suspicious.”
“What if I don’t want to do this? What if I just want to go home?”
“That is not an option and you don’t want to have to deal with the complications. I suppose if you get to a high enough level to be able to request a meeting with the goddess of the world, you could ask, but I cannot guarantee she will say yes, or for that fact if it is even possible.”
“That is a risk I will have to take, but it is something to work towards. How similar is this World compared to the game?”
“Fairly similar to the layout and overall area, but if I remember correctly you only have so many areas in the game, the whole world is open here. People can travel anywhere. Just because someone is in the starter area doesn’t mean they are low level. Though it is rare for really high people to come to lower areas, it isn’t as uncommon as it was in the game. While leveling skills is easier here, leveling itself is harder.”
“Okay, same skill levels and restrictions?”
“Yes skills still Level from novice to mythic, and you can level through novice at level 1, but to enter Beginner you need to be level 11. I’m sure you know the rest of them.”
“I remember, I know a lot of the lore and was a Grandmaster at the histories of both the world and magic, will that still reflect here?”
“You knew the lore of the area’s you had access to, there was so much lore you didn’t have access to which is why you were not able to break above the grandmaster rank. I am unsure what Neris will have set up for that, she might let you keep them or you might have to study again,”
“Okay, so what do I do?”
A book materialized in front of me. “Create your character.”
Taking a deep breath, before placing my hand upon the book. Information flooded my vision. Complete customization, hight, build, eye color everything was in here to be changed. Knowing that race would need to be selected first I turned my attention to them.
Race - Human
A newer race to the world of Etis, as well as one of the most versatile. Though they seek social settings and excel as merchants, warriors, mages. What they lack in racial abilities they make up for in versatility.
5 attribute points per level.
Making a face, and scrolling through the races looking for ones that excelled at magic. There wasn’t much else that I really knew how to do. Though there had been a time where I had tried learning Alchemy. Thinking it would be useful to learn how to make potions.
Race - Elf
An ancient immortal race. Elves are one of the first races created on Etis. their love of nature and understanding of magic are not surpassed by many. Over the generations, elves have evolved many subclasses. Light, Wood, Dark, Water just to name a few. Each has its own area where it excels. Select a sub-class to learn more about it.
I recognized Light elf, it was my character before my death. It was tempting to click it right away, but something held me back, there were more options here that there were in the game. Light elves were the magic users, often called High elves back home. Dark elves were usually assassins. Wood elves were rangers. Water elves lived in the sea. After passing another dozen subclasses one caught my attention.
Race - Arcane Elf
A race many believe to be extinct. Said to be the original elven race created by the goddess Neris herself. Some believe that they have gone into hiding in some of the untamed lands.
Racial abilities:
+20% to spell power
+20% resistance to magic
+ 1 point to Intelligence and Wisdom per level, +3 free points
It was a good thing that I was seated, because if I haven't been, then I would have probably fallen over. That was amazing. Normally to get that bonus to spell power one would need to get their intelligence to level 200. The base resistance to magic was great as well.
“Is there a downfall if I chose to play as the Arcane Elf?” I asked, looking at Alic.
“Some races my try to capture you, as it states it is a rare thought to be an extinct race.”
“Will they be able to tell?”
“If they have a high level analyze ability they would be able to see your race, though there are skills that can fool that unless they have a certain level of analyzing.”
“I’ve read about those, but I’ve never needed to use them before.”
“The choice of character is up to you. If this one appeals to you take it. It does bring a smile to my face to know that the race still lives.”
“What do you mean?” I asked my voice quiet.
“If the race was extinct, the option would be greyed out.” I watched as the screen shifted to another race.
