My name is Thendalaisa, I am a dwarf, and this is my story.
My mother and father were working in the mines, their hands and faces stained with the coal dust from the mine. They were kind people, coming home everyday, making sure that their child was safe. We were slagchildren. The lowest of the low. We were the dirt under the higher’s shoes, no. Less than even that. We meant nothing to these people, yet we served them. We gave our lives to these people, and what did we get in return? We got bread. A loaf of bread for a family of three. A single loaf of bread. Soon enough, I was in the mines as well. I had to grow up fast, in the slums. I worked in the mines for a while, but I realized something. I didn’t belong here. I wanted to leave the village. I realized that I didn’t belong there. That I needed to leave, that I needed to find my own destiny. So, I cut my hair and decided to move on. To go to something better in my life. I knew that the elders wouldn’t be happy, but they couldn’t get to me. I was my own woman now. I could do whatever I wanted. My parents even told me to go out “You can forge a new life.” they said, “You can live like we couldn’t, you could live like a queen!” so I set out on my new life. A life of adventure. After leaving that village, I never looked back. They didn't miss one slagchild, they just worked the rest a little bit harder. So far I've been working odd jobs, but eventually, I want to join a real guild. A guild like the gold mongers, or the gobliners! But, it would be the greatest honor... the absolute greatest honor would be to join the Pathfinder guild. The guild of all guilds, the one king to rule them all. So, I've done my heroic deeds, I've killed orcs, goblins, and monsters, I've dethroned a false king and assassinated a necromancer. I've fought, slain, paid, journeyed all the way here, so my question is... will you let me join?
