Kolt took me to a secret spot behind the new apartment complex we live at. The place we were at looked like where the the building throws out its trash. Old furniture, ragged clothing, and rats--fucking rats--littered the ground all around us.

I thought I had enough of this at the landmark, but guess even a nice place like this has it's fare share.

Kolt was on the other side of the little dumb, setting up a few empty beer bottles and a toilet seat against some more trash. Once he was done, he ran down here, and looked back to make sure things were still standing. Then, he took out a small marble from his pocket.

"What's with the marble?" I asked.

Kolt held it between his fingers as he examined it.

"This little buddy, is called an element stone."

"A...what?" I stuttered confused.

"An element stone!" he exclaimed holding out the little sphere, "With this, I'll find out what elemental affinity you have."

"Wait, what? Kolt explain to me what's going on." I demanded.

Kolt smiled, as if this was just all some fun game.

"See," he began, "before you can throw fireballs at your enemy, you must first find out if you are attuned to control fire. With this element stone, I can identify what elemental affinity you are."

"And I'm guessing that whatever element I am is what you'll be teaching me, because it's the fastest."

"Yep. Of course you could learn other elements, but we don't have time."

"So what elements are there besides fire?" I asked.

Kolt takes a thrown out whiteboard and starts to draw a diagram on it.

"There are seven elements that make up our world. Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Metal, Light, and Dark. These elements control the natural state of the world, and thru these, we Seekers can harness the worlds natural energy."

"So, we can control even greater amounts of Mana?"

"Yes, and what's this we stuff? I'm not making you a Seeker." he quickly changed the subject, "Anyway, all humans have a natural affinity to the elements, but only one at a time. So we are about to see what elements is yours."

"And how will we know?"

"Simple. If the stone catches fire, you're a fire type. If the stone turns to ice, your're a water type. If the stone floats in the air, air type. If it breaks, earth type. If it becomes to heavy, you're a metal type. Then if the stone turns either pure white or pure black, you are either a light or dark type."

"I love how you make me sound like a Pokemon."

"Enough, just put the stone on your hand!"

He places the stone in the center of my palm. I didn't know what to expect, just that it could do a number a things depending on what type I am. For all I know, it could explode and I would become a explosion type--and that's just ridiculous. After about several seconds, the stone stated to move a little, and I'm thinking that I'm an air type. Just as I thought that, the stone explodes in a ball of fire, and in shock, I toss the stone away.

"Holy shit!" I yelled.

"Well, guess your a fire type then." Kolt states.

"You think!"

"That just means I need to teach you fire moves only."

"I'm not a Pokemon." I growl, "But show me how to toss a fireball."

Kolt nodded, and pushes me aside. He then gets in the direction of the bottles and toilet seat he set up--about forty-yards away. Kolt holds up his arm, and I could see him build up Mana. Without hesitating, he yells...

"Llaberif!"

A ball of fire shoots out from his hand, and hits the toilet, burning a hole thru it.

"And that's how you do a demonstration." He turned around and saw the stunned look on my face, "Now you try."

He pushes me towards were he stood.

"But how do I do that?"

Once I was in position, he explained how to do it...

"First, get a clear picture in your head of a burning ball of fire. Then imagine you're holding that ball in your hand. You will know when to fire."

"But how do I--"

"Enough!" Kolt cuts me off, "You have a G-spirit inside you now! You can do things other Seekers take years to learn. Just believe in yourself, and it will come to you."

I remember back to when I meet that Guardian spirit, and how he told me that he wouldn't every let me die. I hope he meant it, or at least will help me this once. Taking a deep breath, I move myself just like Kolt did, and hold up my arm the exact same way.

In my mind, I picture a ball of fire. Then, a hand going out to grab that fire. Once the hand grabs the fire, I feel my hand burn the same way. Without hesitation, I yell...

"Llaberif!"

I shoot a fireball right out of my hand, and towards one of the bottle. It looked like it wasn't going to hit, but curved to smash the bottle on its own. I couldn't believe what I had just done.

"Nice!" Kolt congratulates me.

"But how did it curve like that?" I asked.

Kolt smiled. "That's thanks to you G-spirit inside you. Now that you have it, it will do most of the aiming so you don't have to."

"Really?"

"Yep. Most newbies would have missed the first shot, but with a G-spirit, that's almost impossible."

I smile at the fact that I'm like "The Ultimate Sniper", but my joy was short lived when Kolt cut practice."

"Alright lets go."

"What? Why?" I demand, "We just got started."

"Look, you need time to recover, you're still to weak. And thanks to your G-spirit and that auto aim, why should I teach you anything else. I only helped you control your Mana, so that you can help me get back at my girlfriend's killers. Now that I did that, it's time you paid up."

Well damn. Guess he has his reasons, and just when I was beginning to like him he dose this crap. It's fine, now that I can control my Mana, I have to fill in my part of the deal, and help Kolt track down his girlfriend's killers. Just hope I don't die myself.

"So what next?" I ask him, "Where do we begin?"

Kolt thinks about it, then snaps his fingers when he came up with an idea.

"I know where."
